Just saw that. I'm shocked by this especially after he had been practicing on a limited basis. Not good at all. I'm hoping they give Jay Ratliff a look although I think Cinci is probably the likely landing spot for him after losing Atkins.

So glad that the Patriots traded for Sopoaga right now.


For the Patriots to not wait until after the bye week to make this decision tells me it must have been pretty bad and hopeless that a return was possible this season.

Sounds like he tried to play through an injury and couldn't. I won't be surprised to find out that he's undergoing surgery soon.

Sucks but it won't be so bad if Soap works out or Armstead can add anything. Soap/Jones and Vellano/Chandler/possibly Armstead in backup reps is still pretty good at DT, just can't afford more injuries there.
