I honestly don't care what we give up to move up and get him whenever he comes out of A&M but all i know is that he's one of the most dominating receivers i've ever seen in the college game.

If he's doing this with Manziel can you imagine what he'll do with Tom? I was going to post this post Bama and i was even convinced before that but honestly at this point his body of work speaks for itself.

You want a guy for the Pats that can just go up and get it and doesn't need nurturing
and developed into the NFL game and on top of it already plays against the toughest and most physical D's of the SEC? Evans is the guy.

there are plenty of talented receivers in college that I'd love to have. Unfortunately most of them aren't a "fit" for the offense if you know what I mean. Evans is a great player but I question if he has the speed to create separation in the NFL. He has yet to dominate an NFL starting calibre corner.

I'd rather the QB if he ever fell to round 2.

Go look at what he did to the best college D in the nation earlier in the year, i've seen enough personally.

If Pats are in position to get this guy when the time comes and pass it up, they will be FOOLS

I would not want Johnny football. Keep that dude away for foxboro.

Why? You telling me that you'd pass on that kind of talent? Sick of this mentality where we have to go with guys with less talent but 'tow the line'. Hernandez was a one off basket case, however look at Talib? They called him a troubled guy, he's only the best shutdown corner in the league right now and a LEADER in that dressing room.

Give me someone with Manziel's personality and talent ANYDAY of the week.

Personally, out of these college QB's going into the draft next year, Alabamans QB will have the most success IMO. I wouldn't take manziel. He's a good player but I don't think he fits in foxboro.

I've been chatting about Evans with a friend who is a Texas A&M alumni for some time. He's been of the opinion for a good two years that Evans is a high first round pick by way of talent. Nothing I've seen suggests otherwise. He is a beast.

Agreed, if he doesn't go top 10, somethings wrong.

English, It'd be amazing for him to be a Pat but the only way would be to make a Julio Jones type trade. It's just not worth it, especially since Dobson/KT are progressing before our eyes.

Evans will tear up the league though. He's like a faster Vincent Jackson.

Evans yes! Reminds me of Vincent Jackson.

Manziel? Maybe. If in round 2 or lower. Kinda reminds me of tony romo. Talented but a little reckless and has an ego that might undermine team. If manziel came out the same year as Russell Wilson, id take Wilson.

But that's just me. I don't run the front office and I like it to stay that way. Lol.

Yep drafting wide receivers early always worked great for Detroit see Charles Rogers - 2003 - 2nd to DET

Reminder:
If Manziel is drafted after the first round, then his contract will run out the same year as Brady's, meaning that if Brady plays out his contract, Manziel would hit free agency without ever being the starter.

That said, feel free to keep gushing about Evans. I don't like the "at all costs" part, but he's definitely a guy to keep an eye on.

He's a super talent but the team has greater needs than giving Brady another rookie wideout (the OL and DL being areas of note).

Every position that drafts high ends up with busts. It happens.

Johnny Manziel and the mention of his name in New England would disgust me. Can't believe someone brought that up.

Mike Evans is a freakish beast, no doubt. But, all this 'faster Vincent Jackson' and surefire top-10 pick talk doesn't really make much sense at this point.

He's definitely not a 'faster Vincent Jackson', he's more or less like a TE with WR hips, cutting and leaping ability. VJax is a much smoother athlete who has more speed and explosiveness of the LOS than Evans. He ran a 4.46-40 at 6'5 240 lbs. While Evans is a 4.55 at best at 6'5 225 lbs and is a long strider.

Evans could definitely be a first rounder. How high he'll go will be based on his measurables, specifically how fast he runs at the combine/pro-day. I can't see any team taking him in the top-10 if he runs a 4.61, which is his current projected 40 time.

I like the power and tenacity he plays with though.

Manziel isn't eligible for this season..

The Patriots need to focus on the D-line and O-line in this draft. NT, OC, and OG are must needs.
