Who expected that?

This is very funny!
With a W today, I'm glad Gronk didn't play. Another week to get healed and hopefully be ready for the Rats.

Even funnier....our former TE Ben Watson outdid Jimmy today,no one saw that coming.

So did Hooman. I'm not sure which is more impressive

Nobody. Looking at the "How to stop Jimmy Graham" thread, not one poster suggested using Talib the way the Pats' did. And I'd lay money that if someone did, they'd get shouted down. BB kept it simple: he put his best pass defender on their best pass catcher.

Lots of credit to Field Yates, though.

But while shadowing a tight end with a cornerback may sound unconventional, it may also give the Patriots their best chance to slow Graham down, something no defense has been able to do thus far this season.

Gotta love the hooman. That play he made on 3rd and 18 reminded me of the type of conversations this defense used to give up.

Who is this Jimmy Graham that you speak of?

My eyes can't see invisible people.

Your thread title made me lol...

I expected it... because I genuinely thought Gronkowski would play.

Oops

At least Matt Mulligan didn't outshine Jimmy, that would have been embarrassing.

Yikes, did anyone see Logan Mankins' response to being asked about Gronk post-game? Interpret it how you want, but I thought it was really, really passive aggressive.

I think it's probably time for the Pats to take Gronk off the practice field. Clearly, practicing with the team is not speeding up his return to game action. And, if he's not going to play, it's silly to risk injury and take reps away from actual players for no reason at all. Put him on the bike or in the tub and see if they can't do something to get him healthy.

Or maybe practicing is the only way to get in even the semblance of game shape.

Correlation ? Causation. If practicing weren't in Gronk's best interests, then he wouldn't be.

Credit Gronk for simulating Graham in practice...

changing my nick to "mobborango" for the Rats game...

I'll call you Mob for short....

I'm more concerned about what is in the team's best interest. If he's not going to play in games, then the Pats need to give the practice reps to the actual players. They probably have to bring in another tight end.

Since Gronkowski is not healthy enough for football, it's too risky to keep exposing him to injury in the practice field.
