bunch of Team Chicken Little will be out in force this week after a loss to a good team, so i thought it would be fun to list all the teams that already ended their seasons

1.)The giants. Eli has something like 20 turn overs, the defense is rated last in points allowed. Tom coughlin could lose his job over this

2.) Jax, they have a few people at QB, and they all should be cut. I'd actually take Tebow over the people they have on roster.

3.)Steelers 0-4 crappy offense, ancient defense, Todd Haley is still somehow the OC

4.)Housten. Shaub set a record for consecutive pick 6's in at 4 games in a row, dude got benched. this is a team that had all its major players come back after last year. shaubs contract last year is looking like sanchez 2.0

5.)The Bucs 0-4 most likely losing its entire coaching staff at mid season

6.) Minnesota, 1-3 now has 3 starting QB's and only one that has a win this year

I think if the pats bounce back next week things will be looking sunny as always

It is a good point, expectations are very high. We are in better shape that at least 25 teams but.... 2 of those teams (Giants and Steelers) have won two Superbowls since the Patriots last championship.

Personally I would trade a Superbowl and 3 down years for 4 AFC East Championship banners. They are practically the Atlanta Braves right now.

YAY, We're better than Jacksonville!!

The Bengals lost by double digits to the Browns last week.

The "chicken littles" have been noting the same obvious weaknesses since week 1. Is there more frustration after an ugly loss, yes, but the complaints aren't just because they lost. It's how they lost.

While Gabbert certainly doesn't belong in the NFL, Henne - while nothing special - is good enough to manage a game and their receiving corps is very good. If they didn't insist on playing their worthless former 1st rounder, they could be a respectable team.

It is easier to list the teams that are in less trouble than the Pats. The Pats are still a top ten team and probably the second best in the AFC even with its troubles. And this team is going to get better with the return of Gronk and Vereen and Amendola getting healthier.

the pats may have lost but so did the phins and bills. the jets play the falcons in Atlanta Monday night. a loss by the jets and im good thank you very much.

The Jets secondary sucks. If they can't get to Matt Ryan up front, he is going to pick them apart pretty good.

That was not a good team the Pats lost to. It was a winnable game and a miserable performance by the offense. The sky isn't falling but losing this type of game is always hard.

Taking a look at the standings, us with a one game lead in our division,

only one team in the NFL is better off than us right now: New Orleans, with a 3.5 game lead in their division

Indy and Seattle also have one game leads, same as us.

We are better off than everyone else.

We are 4-1, step back from the edge...

26 teams have two or more losses...

Life is worth living another day.. either that or call the Samaritans.

Yep, 1-4 after 5 weeks, and they need to replace their entire front office, coaching staff, and team. it doesn't get worse than this, except that i forgot to use my caps.

The loss is not so big a deal but what is perhaps a big deal is that it's ONE DAY AFTER A LOSS, is Brady's season to date, the nation's view of this offense, NO next week, and most of all, the real depressing point is:

that DENVER seems almost certain to be the number one seed in the AFL--yes, even at this very early date. which means at best for us having to play them at godawful Denver. does anyone think we can beat them at Mile High??

So I understand the identification with teams like the Giants and Steelers---at least for today and perhaps tomorrow,

PS and then there was picking up 33 additional points in the score contest--a real downer.

But none have fewer fantasy points, and that is what really matters.

Not when he has 2 Lombardis and is only 2 games out of first...He has earned the right to have a clunker of a season, though I still think that they will be in it at the end...Look at that pitiful division....Odds are the winner will be 7-9 at best!!!!

0-5?

what are the odds for them to make the playoffs? 1%?

And only 3 teams remain undefeated...

Right now the only team that's really in less trouble than the Pats is the Saints. Chiefs and Broncos share a division, so one of them is going to have to play some extra games regardless. Broncos' also just gave up 48 points; it's not a loss, but that's a pretty hollow victory. The Colts and Hawks are in pretty similar situations, but one could argue that their current outlook is a bit brighter.

Fun fact: Only one team in the past 20 years has managed to win the SB after allowing 48 or more points in the regular season.

Yesterday's game against Dallas showed some of Denver's weaknesses...not being able to run the ball to control the game and having a defense that is not nearly as good as advertised (especially against the pass).

Over the next 11 games, Denver will experience exactly what the Pats did in 07. Teams will begin identifying their major weaknesses and finding ways to exploit them. If you look at the Pats early season games in 2007, many were blowouts. However, once teams got some game film, many of the games towards the end of the season were pretty evenly contested.

Based on yesterday's game, I'd guess that Denver will end up at 13-3. I think that they will lose at least one to the Chiefs (they have the type of defense that gives Manning fits...good DBs and consistent pressure w/o blitzing). I also think that they lose another 1-2 to the Pats, Colts, Chargers, or Texans (since all of those games are on the road). Depending on who they lose to, 13-3 may not be enough to get the #1 seed (although they should get a bye...unless KC beats them out for the division).
