How do you stop Jimmy Graham and the Saints next week?

Give him the Gonzalez treatment. Talib on Colston.

The bigger question, how do you stop their little water bug.

Looking forward to this game. Loving the Patriots defense this year. Really worried about the Kelly injury though. This will be a tremendous challenge for them. You're not stopping the Saints offense but what you hope to do is force more FG's than TD's in the red zone.
This is one of those games where everyone will pick the Saints because they look great and the Patriots not so much.
The Patriots will win next week.
The offense will get their act together. They will revert back to the "old days". The way you stop a great offense is to keep the ball away from them.
Run and run and run and dink and dunk up and down the field, Tom Brady.
The Saints can't score if they don't touch the ball.

The defense will have to treat Graham as an actual receiver in my opinion, or maybe this will the game where Tavon Wilson suddenly steps up and proves his worth

Sure, our midget vs. one of the tallest (if not THE tallest) player in the game.

What...let him catch everything in sight? We will get crushed that way

Sooner or later the saints will lay a dud on the road like usual ( also like the pats did yesterday) If the O can get their head out of their asses then we have a good shot

We'll see. That team is on a 2007 Patriots-like mission this year it just isn't getting as much press. They really feel like they had a season stolen from them with an over the top punishment based on flimsy evidence. As Pats fans we can relate to over the top punishments and Goodell trying to be a hard ass.

Its easy to stop Graham, all you have to do is get to the quaterback. You need a talented defensive line that can get to Brees with the standard 4 man rush. Unfortunely we don't have that kind of defense, how do WE stop Graham with OUR defense? i guess the good old double, but that would leave Colston,Sprole and company wide open.

Too bad Ridley, Vereen, Bolden and Washington are all hurt. Even if some of them play it will be at much less than 100%.

As for covering Graham, don't worry, Belichick, being the genius he is, addressed this issue by drafting Tavon Wilson in the 2nd round. He got mocked for it but you all need to remember he is smarter than all of you and therefore you can't criticize any of his moves when they happen :bricks:

seriously though, just don't put Hightower on him. He just doesn't move well enough.

Washington has been a dud. Wish we kept woodhead over him. But hopefully Ridley plays. Gronk plays...Amendola more snaps...O is getting there.

But pressure will be key vs Brees. With no wilfork it will be tough...(with no Kelly good luck with any pressure)

I was referring to the double team at the line of scrimmage in the red zone. Dont let him get off the line clean.

They will move the ball. Red zone defense will be huge.

yeah they gotta do that

Hey line up gronk on graham on D

Now...who can run with sproles out of the backfield besides a BMW M3?

No one, that's why one of our top priorities will be to seal the front line as much as possible, including the ends.

If he makes it pass the D-line, we’re royally focked. Our LBs stand no chance against him.

With this

I have one of these, I had to check my closet to see if it was still there.

Most here think we are going to lose. Fans every where think we are going to lose. So the Pats should call NO and tell them to stay home and take a win.

It doesn't happen that way

Brady has to suck it up along with McDaniels and get this team moving offensively. The defense has to play lights out again.

Go Pats

And Vegas has us -3 favorite going into this....

over or under 100 yards and a TD from graham this week?

Under, since I am assuming that taking him away will be primary defensive game plan.

The Pats D usually does a good job of taking away that primary offensive weapon.

The bigger concern to me is the secondary offensive weapon, i.e., Sproles.

As a point of reference look back to the last game: the Pats wanted to limit Julio Jones, and they did a decent job of executing that plan. It was the second weapon, Tony Gonzalez, that was hurting them until they were forced to make in-game adjustments.

Pretty tough task ahead. It's not like its impossible though. Tampa Bay held them to 16 points. Granted they are division rivals but lets not just assume the Pats are going to go into the game scared and unprepared.

Jam Graham at the Los. Talib on Colston, do your best to cover the other receivers and dump offs to Sproles. Easier said then done, but it has been done. Simple as that and oh yeah, Score points.

Just like when a team plays the Broncos, you don't stop them because you can't

BUT...You can outscore them and that is exactly what the Pats have to do

Expect a game like a 35-31 affair
