Mike Wallace still whining about his role with Dolphins

The hoser is in contention for AFCE or Wildcard and yet he's worried about his stats. GLAD we didn't sign this prima.

Here's a badly needed clue: get open on your routes and CATCH the ball.

d%#*!@t BB, why didnt we sign this guy ??

The funny thing is, he'd probably rather be piling up yards on the 0-4 Steelers than playing a vital role that doesn't show up in the stat box for the 3-1 Dolphins.

And yet again, I can't understand why a one-dimensional deep threat would sign with a team that has a sieve for an offensive line, then be surprised to find that he's not getting a lot of deep balls. If he didn't see this coming, then he's just a profoundly stupid person.

Bet he is truly regretting not taking that supposed $76 million deal from the Vikings right now.

1-3 team who would probably throwing 10-12 deep balls his way a game and for more money.

And he probably wanted to talk about himself and his stats yesterday but the Dolphins PR staff stepped in after he answered "yes" to wanting more deep balls. Can't wait for his 2 catch, 20 yard game(s) against us.

:noidea:

I’m pretty sure it’s not the way anybody imagined it going. So for myself, and starting with myself, [quarterback] Ryan [Tannehill] and coaches, we all got to do a better job and find a way to make it work.”...

...“I know one thing, we not going to be able to go through a whole year like that,” Wallace said of the lack of big plays. “We have to make big plays. We have to back defenses up. That’s what we have to do. Extra film work, different plays, whatever it is, whatever it’s going to take, we have to get it done. We have to make big plays.”

He's right.

Eh, the only reason I wouldn't want him is the price tag. You think of the possibilities pairing him with Brady and finally having an elite deep threat again, I'd forget about these supposed character concerns rather quick.

Every team in the league would take him at a certain salary. Very few teams will take him at the salary that he commands.

Wallace was a product of therothlesburg run around. He doesn't run disciplined routes but after Roth started scrambling he would find a open osition and Roth would throw him the ball.

He would never fit in a disciplind Passing O and BB knew it.

Plus he is a dumb Diva and only concerned abut hmself. Definitely NOT a team player or a proponent of the Pariot way.

Yeah, I always found it a little silly that people pointed to Wallace as a major miss back in 2009. He's obviously better than Tate, but there are plenty of reasons to feel that his play wouldn't translate to this system, with your mention of Pitt's sandlot style being one of them.

I agree. The only thing in this article that speaks of "me-ism" is Florio's summary at the end, which is nothing more than conjecture.

Big plays are his role in an offense - stretch the field, make some large chunks of yardage quickly, etc. If we'd signed Wallace for a boatload, and he had few big plays with Brady at this point, we'd be wanting that to change, too, and applauding him pushing for it as well.

He is right.

With Tannehill behind center, there needs to be a threat of a deep ball or a better running game for this to hold up for the course of an entire season. But it's not necessary to go deep that much more often than the he is, but most successful offenses are at least around 16 percent (outside Atlanta and KC).

Tannehill is currently 34th out 36th in deep ball passing percentage (15 yards or more) at only 12% of his passes going 15 yards or more, behind him are only Alex Smith and Glennon in his one start. But guys like Manning/Brady/Rodgers aren't deep ball wacky with all of them around 15-20%.

What this is doing is despite having a good completion percentage (7th in league at 65.5) his YPA is actually 21st at 4.6 YPA.

Wallace may be whining but to get up into the next tier of offenses, they need to bump that YPA attempt up. They could do that in a few ways by targeting him more on longer passes. It opens up some additional YAC chances by back the safeties off, or actually hitting some deep balls. Unless Miller/Thomas can turn their running game around.

he's the one trick pony and that one trick is over rated big ben would buy time in the pocket for him to get open on all of he's deep balls
