Interesting why he's not seen many defensive snaps this season. Wondering if he'll make his debut this Sunday covering the second Bengals tight end (Eifert or Gresham)?

I think we'll see a lot more of Collins this week. I thought he played pretty well in Atlanta, particularly when he started jamming Gonzales.

He looks disinterested and in a funk.

Another one? (Good one, you got me).

I like Fletcher, a lot. I also can't see whose snaps he should be taking, which seems like an excellent sign about this LB corps.

Hightower is too good to take off the field and Mayo is Mayo.

Agreed. Fletcher is valuable depth but Mayo never comes off the field and Hightower's out there probably 75-85 percent of the time, based on the opponent.

As big of a fan of the pride of Bozeman MT as I am, he's losing snaps to Hightower and that's one of those good problems.

Yes
However with Cin running a 2 TE offense I expect Fletch to get more snaps.
Or maybe not if Collins instead gets the cover role.

He had 0 snaps last week on defense...

But it might make sense this week with the duo of Gresham and Eifert.

He is 5th on the depth chart and we have been spending so much time in nickel sets this season that we haven't needed to go beyond Mayo, Hightower and Spikes in most games, and when we have Collins has been the guy seeing the reps.

Fletcher is a good player to have in case of an injury to Mayo or Spikes as well as adding good special teams value, I don't think he is the type of player you necessarily look to get on the field though.

FWIW, I believe he is the fastest guy the Pats have on the front seven.

He just got a new pad over in Boston area. Maybe he is focused on that instead.

I agree. We are in fine shape at linebacker.

Hightower has been playing well. Collins has had a few reps, and would seem to be the candidate to replace. However, as long as Collins is ahead of Fletcher, he will play. I think that we all agree that he has a higher upside than Fletcher.

Fletcher is a fine a special teamer, as is reasonable for a #5 LB. He is capable of starting, also reasonable for a #5 LB.

The reality is that a #5 LB might be doing his job and get zero reps, and zero stats.

So many folks said that we needed 6 or 7 linebackers who could be relied and on, and who would contribute. We now see the reality. Four linebackers have had all the reps. Two of the four have have seen relatively few reps, but that could change based on game plan and game situation.

I like Fletcher, a lot. I also can't see whose snaps he should be taking, which seems like an excellent sign about this LB corps.

Against Atlanta BB elected to have Collins and Ryan try and cover Tony, I don't see why Dane will now be given a shot ahead of the

My prediction is Dane doesn't play this week, nor any other week unless we have LB injuries

Would be interesting to see Collins and Fletcher on the field at the same time. Would be a heck of a pass covering set.

I wouldn't cut him, I mean he's a good LB and we can use him on special teams and for giving Mayo or Hightower a break.
