Monster NT/DT Louis Nix

I tried to watch Hageman this weekend to get a better feel for him, but did not see him on the field. Anybody know if he is hurt? An injury could cause him to slide in the draft.

He was on the field. He did nothing! (until the end of the 2nd half, then i don't know)

I still don't think he'll fall to within the Pats' range, but Nix is looking like a pretty darn good fit if Wilfork isn't quite himself next season.

Just wait and grab a guy like Daniel McCullers. Big time body to have to move. Nix will probably be out of our range.

I don't like McCullers at all, he's very big but VERY slow, no explosiveness to his game at all, not a difference maker at all.

If that pick was confined to an available DT I'd much prefer Dominique Easley, THAT'S a guy with explosion who can get into the opposing backfield.

Of course, Easley's rehabbing too.

OTOH, anyone resembling Ron Brace in speed. . . . DO NOT WANT.

Nix reminds me a lot of Ron Brace. Big slow, not the brightest bulb.

McCullars looked soft against Georgia as well.

For a huge wide body, Nix appears to be playing on skates. He got pushed around a ton last game.

Not sure that is our type of DT.

If Nix gets put on skates, than Daniel McCullers is Tanya Harding.

Nix has knee trouble and needs surgery for a torn meniscus.

But Ra'shede Hageman is the real deal. He's a riser. Nix is a faller.

What Hageman can do that's coveted by the NFL is when he's beaten on a pass play, he has the ability to absolutely sky for a very big man, knocking down the pass. He'd be the most impactful DT we've had since Seymour.

Hageman is having a monster game against an experienced, good Michigan State offensive line.
