I can't tell if there are two different versions of Brandon Spikes, or if it just took him awhile to get a good feel for the defense, which is certainly possible?

He was a much better player down the postseason stretch of 2011 and last season in 2012, but I sometimes wonder what Belichick thinks of some of the consistency issues (if he does indeed see any).

Either way, he's obviously a great run stuffer and brings a physical presence to the defense, but I wonder if he is the kind of player who Belichick would feel comfortable giving a nice 2nd deal to?

Hopefully he just has a minor issue and has another good year in 2013.

Disinterested means- impartial, without bias. As in a judge is disinterested in the outcome of a trail.

I'm sure you mean - Uninterested - as in showing no thoughtful response to a situation or moment.

I hear ya ! I have been following this forum religiously for so long and decided to register only in 2007. Very true about the regurgitate stuff and I have done it many times, but in my defense, other poster exactly wrote what I had in my mind and I had to acknowledge it,

It's over for me & Nicholson by the end of the 60's. He was fresh coming up under Corman in b&w low-budget beatnick quickies like THE CRY BABY KILLER, THE WILD RIDE, & LITTLE SHOP. He probably would've fared better had he went to Europe where there's more room to branch out for an actor. Hollywood, especially the post 1975 Hollywood, has about 3, maybe 4, different male personality types for an actor to choose from. The Hollywood studio system is rigidly formulaic.
But hey, that's where the money is.

I found and joined this place the day Comcast took away our newsgroup access. I'd been on alt.sports.football.pro.ne-patriots since the late 90's, but it was a blessing in disguise because I love this board way better, despite some of the drivel.

Just speculating, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that a touch of the flu might have hit a couple Patriot players. I read something somewhere that triggered that thought a couple days ago, but now I can't remember what or where.

Not seeing as much Spikes. Middle linebacker Brandon Spikes' playing time has been impacted, in part, by the Patriots being in so much sub defense. He had missed most of the first half of the season opener because of dehydration, but in the Week 2 win over the New York Jets, Dont'a Hightower was the second linebacker in the 4-2-5 nickel. Spikes has played 47 of 138 snaps this season, while Hightower has played 117 of 138 snaps.
