Content Post The 2013 season: The Jets suck (as usual)

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

Looking at the Jets board, it is funny that there are so many Jets fans who think that the Jets sucking this season is a media creation and that team has the potential to have 10-11 wins. Granted these are the same people who said the fact the first team offense didn't have a single TD in the preseason was another media overhyped issue and the offense would be much improved in the regular season.

I swear the Jets fans love to set themselves up for misery. They are so pumped about how their first team defense because they kept the Giants' first team offense in check a week ago. The thing is that the Pats' second string defense also did a pretty good job keeping the Giants' first team offense in check last night.

I don't understand why they don't seem to be taking this Matt Sims kid seriously at quarterback. Isn't he more prepared to run the offense than Gee-No! coming off an injury?

Hey, folks! In all of this rush to give your opinion about an ex-backup-quarterback, aren't you forgetting something? Yes, they still do!

This is the best day of the season to be a Jets fan, of course. Trouble is, they still have to keep 53 of them.

Good news for us too! :rocker:

I'd like to point out that for the entire off-season, at least out here in Patriots Nation hinterland, there was little to no discussion of Hernandez after the initial pre-arrest/arrest period.

The national media was way happier to talk about whether a 3rd-string QB would make the roster cuts.

That is, when they weren't talking about how the JEST are getting ready to suck again!

Hmmmmm.

OK, you've pointed it out, but I'm sorry to say I don't see the point to which your pointing pointed.

To my mind, it's a shame to this board when a thread discussing whether a backup quarterback should be kept on the roster has more posts on it than this fine one.

Yes, I know -- that raised a question on which rational human beings might possibly differ, while it's impossible to think of the Jets without knowing that they suck. But they suck in new ways every day, as our talented contributors helpfully keep reminding us.

I'm sure you'll agree, we are performing an important public service here.

You raise a valuable point, Mike. At times, I wonder if the Jets' suckage could be a threat to the universe itself.

For instance, what happens if some alien civilization runs into the video footage of the Buttfumble, and decides that humanity, as a species, would be easy pickings? We'd be doomed to destruction as a result of Mark Sanchez's idiocy!

How can he possibly sleep at night, knowing he singlehandedly may be responsible for the destruction of society?

That might be so, of course, but it could be the other way round.

There's a fine story by the British writer, Will Self, called "The Quantity Theory of Insanity". As we go through the story, it emerges that there is a certain amount of craziness in the world and the better that people get at treating it in one place the worse things get elsewhere. If that's true, then maybe it's only the Jets that are keeping the rest of us sane.

Adrian Wilson to IR, when did he even get hurt?

Edit: No clarification if its the eligible to return IR list or season-ending IR list.

Interesting theory. Although, I've long been a proponent of forced sterilization and quarantine of Green Beans fans. Here is one reason why:

Well, call me soft-hearted.

Still, that poor kid! Number 16 -- Brad Smith?

("I'm so unhappy I wish I'd never been born."
"I know -- but how many Jets fans are so lucky? Not one in a thousand!")

Thank you thank you........Among many great lines........

"The Jets are the NFL's ruptured appendix. We've made fun of star-crossed franchises like the Browns and Lions and Bills here, but the Jets—who somehow managed to WIN a Super Bowl at one point—and unquestionably the laughingstock of the NFL. Not only do they lose, but they lose in the tackiest way possible. Their fans are insecure morons and their players are somehow even dumber. What purpose do they serve other than to hold themselves up for merciless ridicule?" :rocker:

"REX RYAN'S ******* TEETH. Have you seen those things? They're brighter than the goddamn sun. It's like staring into the Ark of the Covenant from Indiana Jones, which I would rather do than watch this dumpster fire of a team.".....Rob the rats fan

..................

Is it just me or does that kid bear an uncanny resemblance to Fireman Ed? (The thought that even on some dark night of insane inebriation someone should have chosen Fireman Ed as a means to continue the species is deeply disturbing ...)

I don't think it's possible. In all those years he led the J-E-T-S chant, I never saw him near a female. They intuitively kept their distance. Besides, we know that franchise and all associated with it are a collective crime against nature. Anyone that thoroughly steeped in abomination likely is incapable of procreating.

Sadly, Tunescribe, this can't be true. There are Jets fans under the age of 50, so clearly, there is either procreation going on, or large amounts of indoctrination poisoning the minds of impressionable youth.

I understand this. I was referring specifically to Fireman Ed.
