This has nothing to do with the Tebow debate, he is talking about people who think they can evaluate players without understanding their roles and responsibilities, i.e..draftniks like you who watch You Tube and critique players without knowing what they are talking about. Tebow's inability to throw the ball is obvious and it doesn't take an expert to see that he can't.

Basically manxman you just cut yourself off from being able to do your draft critiques because it is that kind of blather that Belichik is actually referring to, and i will be sure to bring that back up to you when you start telling us about next year's prospects.

I haven't said he's better than Blount and I certainly haven't said he's a better QB than Brady (WTF!!!). I've said that I'd like to see him as a RB. That's all.

I would like to see Jessica Alba in my room tonight.

Oh wait, cancel that, there she is now.

The New England Patriots theoretically have five running backs on the future 75 man roster, some can actually contribute on special teams.

It would be a shame to cut one of the five running backs when injuries occur, only for the New England Patriots to sign Lex Hilliard, as was the case last season.

LOL. I've never claimed to be an expert. I'm an amateur and well aware of my limitations. Feel free to bring up whatever you like. Of course that would be churlish and immature but if that's your bag, you go for it.

He'll be the only FA available will he?

Since your missing the point altogether, I'll just conclude the running back discussion.

I'm not missing the point, I just don't agree with your premise.

Plain and simple, Tebow has to go. There have been better QBs in the Belichick era that BB cut. None have been this putrid in training camp and survived the cut, and neither should Tebow. What is he ? 6-20 for 70 yards and an Int ? Just brutal. And this against third stringers. There are no positives, and I'd be shocked if he made the final 53. He certainly hasn't earned it.

You are the one citing Belichick talking about people talking about things they really don't know about, and what he was really referring to was the kind of 'analysis" you like to engage in so much.

And you feel it's going to be worth stalking me in the draft forum because of it?

I'm interested in the draft and I share my thoughts in the draft forum. This is what's bothering you? I have no comment.

Edit: And BTW, you can go back through every post I've made in that forum and you won't find one comment critical of BB because a) I don't have access to the same info BB does (the point of the article) and 2) because I don't feel qualified to.

5 for 19 for 54 yards and a pic.

Nope, never done anything like that and wouldn't bother, but it certainly was worth bringing up given your lame attempt to try and link it to the Tebow discussion, which is an altogether different issue, as Tebow's problems throwing the ball are abundantly clear and not a matter of interpretation.

So, what we have here is a QB who can't throw and can't take care of the ball as a runner or QB, yet some here want a neverending project that wastes a roster spot simply because they like him, not because he actually has earned it or deserves it.

He's very physically gifted -- his quickness and cutting ability are amazing for a guy his size. It's deceptive because he's so big it fools the eye.

Only reason the following is relevant is that you seemed to think he wasn't much of an outlier in the physically gifted department, which is relevant to the question of why BB and Josh might think he's good "project material."

I 'm surprised you didn't look at more than 40 times while you were looking at combine numbers. Tebow's 40 time (while impressive for a 240 lb. quarterback) is not really his strength -- he doesn't really have a "second gear" in that last 20 yards. But 40 time is not the most important thing for a running quarterback, or even a running back. That's why they measure other things for short range quickness and cutting ability.

So before I publish some times, understand this -- Tebow's 3 cone drill is off the charts. His vertical is amazing. His 20 yard and 60 yard shuttle times are very respectable. He is quicker than all those players you listed by any measure, while being heavier and more durable. Did you not know that?

First, three cone drill -- Tebow had a 6.66. To put that in perspective, tiny Ray Rice had a 6.65. And for three years, Tebow was second only to Ray Rice among all RB's and QB's in Three cone drill.

3 Cone Drill

Tebow 6.66
Caparnick 6.85
Newton 6.92
Wilson 6.97
Griffin none
Geno none
Manual 7.08
Luck 6.80

Vertical Leap

Robert Griffin 39
Tebow 38.5 (3rd highest QB at last 4 combines)
Andrew Luck 36
Newton 35
Manual 34
Wilson 34
Kapernick 32.5

(Sort of jumps out -- he's clearly athletically talented.)

60 Yard shuttle

Tebow 11.27
(highest in 7 years of combine for QB)
5th highest in 7 years if you include RB's at combine, just ahead of Doug Martin of Tampa, and Giovannie Bernard of Bengals.

20 yard shuttle

Wilson 4.09
Tebow 4.17
Kaepernik 4.18
Newton 4.18
Luck 4.28

I notice you like to skip some of the top performers to make Tebow look better

3 cone drill for instance... "Off the charts" Matt Scott was a whole 3/100 of a second slower. Try stopping a stop watch within 3/100ths of a second..bet you can't. In other words it's negligible.

His "amazing" vertical is 4th best in the last several years.

Brad Smith grades out better than Tebow by that kind of crap and there aren't too many qbs who have ever played as bad. Also, don't give me that crap about him winning. He had 4 completions in the playoffs against the Patriots until about half way through the 4th when the Pats were playing the scrubs and only managed a few more completions. He's awful.

MM I actually share your same intrigue for Tebow as a RB in the same type of mold as a Peyton Hills or if you go further back Mike Alstott, I actually think it is a role he could potentially be successful in, but I don’t personally think it is a transition he can make in 2013, and given that his confidence probably already at low point I think it would be best not to rush that type of a position change and end up having it further diminish his self-confidence. I see no reason why we do not either find something that we can send him to a reserve list for or release him and resign him in January to a futures contract.

"project material" for what?

You are forgetting the most compelling reason to cut Tebow , the fact that this stupid thread might actually die .

Is there a CFL team located north of the Arctic Circle?

Heresy.

This thread will be great between-game fodder until the end of the season.

This threads will continue until Tebow (and his fans) find another NFL or CFL team, or Arena League I guess.
