Patriots Training Camp Day 10 (@ Philadelphia)

I share your feeling of befuddled; not over the Patriots fan bases interest in Manning but rather why you feel compelled to polarize even the slightest mention of something that could escalate into a confrontational discussion? Either you’re moronic enough to believe that defending Manning in a Patriots board is going to end in sunshine and rainbows, or you take some get some type of pleasure from instigating situations into unnecessary strife.

Based on my observations of your interactions in the forum you appear to be intelligent, even highly intelligent at times therefor I’m inclined to go with option number 2, which in my opinion is immature and negligent; being that we’re both adults I lack the authority to tell you what to do, and even if I didn’t I wouldn’t tell you not to do something you appear to take pleasure in. I will ask you to no longer use my posts as a platform for this behavior, and I’d appreciate it if you could adhere with my request. This is not to tell you that I do not want to interact with you because that is not the case I enjoy interacting with you even receiving constructive criticism from you; this type of behavior however is not congruent with my goal in this forum.
That's a fair superiority complex you've got there Brady6. manx is one of the better, more respected posters on Patsfans. Good luck with that attitude around here.

In regard to the rest of the thread, it's always good to get outsider perspectives in regard to the Patriots preseason form. Although in isolation, it's pleasing to read the same names being reported as standouts by "outsiders".

Jeff Howe ?@jeffphowe 4m
The Patriots and Eagles liked each other so much, they're gonna do it again. They've just scheduled a third joint practice for Thursday.

Practice Observations: Tom Brady breaks out with big performance against Eagles | Jeff Howe, Boston Herald

- Running back LeGarrette Blount looked really tough to bring down. He hasn’t stuck out at practice in Foxboro, but backs like him need live action to really show off.

anyone else excited about this? I am...

Some more on Blount, this from Nick Underhill:

Talked to LeGarette Blount a little bit today.
He seems confident that he can be the Pats’ short yardage guy.

He's a 3rd string QB who will most likely never see the field. Who cares about Tim Tebow?

Maybe Belichick does and the Pats team as a whole as he is the read option QB in practice which is very important nowadays. Maybe the disabled and terminally ill little kids Tebow spends time with care. The question is does anybody give a rat's wrinkled *** about you?

Six pages (in the 40 post per page format) has to be a record, as far as the TC threads go. I'm proud of everyone who participated.

QB (2) Brady, Mallett
RB (4) Ridley, Vereen, Washington, Bolden
WR (6) Amendola, Dobson, Boyce, Edelman, Thompkins, Slater
TE (4) Gronkowski, Fells, Sudfeld, Hoomanawanui
C (1) Wendell
G (4) Mankins, Connolly, Cannon, Green
T (4) Vollmer, Solder, Svitek, Zusevics
DE (6) Jones, Ninkovich, Francis, Bequette, Benard, Buchanan
DT (5) Wilfork, Kelly, Cunningham, Forston, Armstead
ILB(1) Spikes
OLB(3) Mayo, Hightower, Collins
CB (5) Talib, Dennard, Arrington, Ryan, Cole
SS (2) Wilson, Wilson
FS (3) McCourty, Gregory, Harmon
ST (3) Gostkowski, Mesko, Aiken

Total players: 53
Created with Pats Picker: Pats Picker 2013

I just want to go on record how cool the PatsFans.com Pats Picker is.

Players on my bubble: Mesko (with Allen), Zusevics (considering how Svitek has looked this week), Armstead (in case he is not back soon and still placed on the NFI list), Blount, Beauharnais, Fletcher, and obviously Ras-I Dowling as well as Tim Tebow.

*shrug* I always skip Tebow related news - positive or negative.

I don't hold anything against anyone who cares about him. I just find it puzzling. No need to argue - we're all on the same team.

Can't blame you. I usually just skipped the Kevin O'Connell-related news as well.

Hard to argue with. So I'll try something different. I'll call it roster locks. Meaning any of the players on the list would be jaw dropping cuts.

QB Brady

RB Ridley Vereen

WR Ammendola Dobson Boyce Thompkins Slater

TE Gronkowski

OL Solder Cannon Wendy Vollmer (Mankins and Connolly would be surprising but both have big cap numbers)

DL Armstead Wilfork Fortson Jones Ninkovich

LB Hightower Mayo Collins

DB Talib Arrington McCourty Ryan Harmon

K gostowski

P none

LS Aiken

Again these are players that would be shocking cuts, to me anyway. Thoughts?

1. I believe this is the first that I have seen Thompkins listed as a lock. As crazy as it seems that an UDFA would be placed in that category, as of today that actually makes sense. Right now there is no way he would pass through waivers and make it on to the practice squad.

2. I would add Mankins in to the lock category because of the cap hit, if nothing else.

3. I would not consider Armstead to be a lock. If anything his current status strengthens Tommy Kelly's chances. However, I do agree it is unlikely that Armstead will be cut.

4. Forston is certainly in the highly likely to make the roster category, but personally I would stop just short of calling him a lock. This is probably just semantics, with where you and I draw that line.

Good breakdown.

AB trust me when I say I don't think I'm superior to anyone especially not a person I've never knowingly been face to face with. I may feel I'm superior to a particular behavior from time to time but that isn't a reflection of how I feel about a person overall. Manx is as you implied an excellent member of this forum, I enjoy his post as much as anyones, and I recently befriended him on here, my issue is just that one single issue that I didn't appreciate.

I harbour no hard feelings toward manx and would want him to let me know if I did something he found distasteful. I'm a straight shooter AB I prefer to tell a person if there is something that could impact our relationship negatively, rather than saying nothing and having it build into resentment.

**Manx I do sincerely apologies if I laid it on thick and it felt like a personal attack on your character.

When Arrelious Benn limped off today it turned out to be a torn ACL. With him and Maclin gone, they are pretty thin at WR: DeSean Jackson, Jason Avant, Riley Cooper and ??? More opportunity for Russell Shepard and Greg Salas I suppose. I wouldn't be surprised if they give Brandon Lloyd or Donald Jones a call. The Chargers may be in the market too, to replace Danario Alexander.

Mike Reiss ?@MikeReiss 25s
Patriots' final 11-on-11 series for first-team offense ends on down note as wide-open Danny Amendola drops pass over middle from Tom Brady.

Wow! He really is a Welker clone.

Why are so many Patriot fans so hung up on Peyton Manning? What's with the inferiority complex?

Two posts on an issue per 150 posted is being hung up on that issue???

I loved the music video he and Eli did....Hilarious!

It's getting painfully obvious who the dumbasses are who live to agitate this forum via bringing up a certain topic. Transparent and pathetic attention whoring/master troll wannabees can get bent. There's too much awesome news about our WR corps, Sudfield, defense and other stuff to discuss than to waste time on a topic that won't matter during the regular season.

It was Hernandez's lower body that made him special. 6'1, 245lbs and glided.

Agreed. I think Sudfield is going to end up being our TE2, based on the way things are panning out, however. We'll miss the Serial Killer's presence in the slot and his YAC. Seriously, the guy had one move, catch the ball and spin left, how did it work every single time? Either way I'm thinking we're going to get good play out of a Gronk/Sudfield combo and if Boyce/Amendola can help making up for the previous #81's slot performance we'll be ok.

I think anyone who isn't more upbeat about this offense than they were before TC is stuck in 'I would rather be right than happy' mode. All signs are encouraging.

Good breakdown.

I struggled with my one there will be one or two cuts that will be tough.

For me it was pick three to stay out of : Tebow, Fells, Hooman, Cole, Forston, Ebner and Buchanan.

I cut fells for the $$$ . Kept Tebow to run the read option on the scout team, kept Buchanan and Cole for their ST skills.

QB (3) Brady, Tebow, Mallett
RB (4) Ridley, Washington, Blount, Vereen
WR (6) Amendola, Boyce, Edelman, Slater, Thompkins, Dobson
TE (4) Sudfeld, Ballard, Hoomanawanui, Gronkowski
C (1) Wendell
G (3) Mankins, Connolly, Cannon
T (3) Vollmer, Solder, Svitek
DE (6) Ninkovich, Bequette, Cunningham, Francis, Buchanan, Jones
DT (3) Wilfork, Kelly, Armstead

CB (6) Dennard, Arrington, Dowling, Ryan, Cole, Talib

Where is Benard? I think it's pretty likely he makes the team. I'd either cut Tebow or Cunningham and keep Forston. Your depth at DT is veritably non-existent.

How has Fortson looked in practices?
