I like Tim Tebow. It is is his fanatic coterie that I can't stand and who will undermine the team if given half a chance.

But Tebow is quickly wearing out his welcome to all but the Tebow-nitwits. He just is not an NFL QB.

I don't want to go into a season where any Brady incompletion or INT starts the Tebow-nitwits whispering "He's done. toast! Over the Hill".

Nor do I want Mallett's preseason to demonstrate how far he has come, to degenerate into a few scattered throw away lines, while the Mediots devote multiple paragraphs to a QB who can't throw.

I am a Tebow fan. If he doesn't make it here, I will feel at least he was given a true chance. The main thing that frustrated me with the Jets is that the other QB's were doing awful, so why not give the guy a chance. That won't be the situation here. Brady is a great QB and Mallett was also a good college QB. Brady is definitely not Sanchez and I don't think Mallett would get sacked as many times as McElroy did. I do think Tebow is a great guy, but there are lots of great guys. I just wanted him to be treated better, whether he makes the team or not. I'm sure there are over the top fans, but in reality, I don't personally know any.

Good lord, are you serious ? I mean, right after Tebow was signed, Joker ran around making all sorts of doom and gloom predictions about the oncoming hordes of rabid Tebowites who would demand that he start.

Still waiting for that one to materialize. It's not going to happen.

In Denver, BRONCOS fans were mainly the ones chanting TEBOW, TEBOW, and that's because they had already sat by and watched Orton go something like 7-22. Go figure. Starting QB sucks and actually costs the team some games due to his ineptitude and fans were calling for his backup. SHOCKING.

Tebow goes to NY where he has the misfortune to be behind Mark Sanchez. Sanchez sucked, like he did the previous season causing many NY fans to call "TEBOW, TEBOW".

This isn't Denver with Orton, nor is it NY with Buttchez. It's the NE Pats with Tom F'ing Brady. There will be no mass chants of "TEBOW, TEBOW" unless something damned near catastrophic happens, or if the brain trust of Bill and Josh design some play to use Tebow against the Jets and a TD is scored. Then, the chants of "TEBOW, TEBOW" would just be to rub it in.

the season's young, Demosthenes...give it and yourself time.:loco:

To be honest, as one of the "fanatic coterie", we are almost embarrassed for wasting your time. While the toughest spot to look average is running an offense next to Tom Brady, we thought Tim at least had something... and he may yet. Speaking from the circus, right now we are hoping for nothing more than helping the Pats prepare for an RG3, Kap, or Wilson and whoever else adopts a form of the read option. Replace Brady? LOL

I'm pretty sure that unless Tebow breaks a leg or something, he WILL be on this year's Patriot roster.I posted earlier somewhere here that it makes good business sense for a number of reasons.

I read all the reports out of camp I can find and have talked to my friends that have already been to practices both days.My opinion is that two days of practice , unpadded, means next to nothing for evaluation purposes. The things people are complaining about in regards to Tebow's mechanics are the same complaints he's garnered since he went pro. BB is aware of all of Tebow's assets and flaws, I am sure. He will do as he does with EVERY player that comes to the Patriots , seek to maximize his strengths and neutralize his weaknesses.

I actually like what I'm seeing so far from him...in total. He's a press magnet in a GOOD way. He's a very hard worker and so far a seemingly great teammate. This is all about the team. Does Tim Tebow make the Pats a better team? I think so. Intangibles play a big part in team building and TT has a boatload. For me to make any kind of evaluation on his play will take game reps in preseason games. THAT is what I'm waiting for. Until then, I, personally, am going to relax and brush off the media hysterics.

Not that my opinion matters, but while you have been very outspoken of your disdain for the Horde of Tebow fanactics, and me in particular, you've been nothing but class wrt Tebow himself and the Pats signing him.

While Mike Reiss comments are obvious, never thought about Tebow in relation to our offense.. which is predicated on timing, from the breaks by receivers to the way the O linemen block... Tebow would throw a monkey wrench into this..

There is no roster spot for him, people have mentioned him as an H back, but whose spot would he take?? Despite the demise of AH and Gronk's injury we are still deep at TE, he have a good group at RB and even though our WR crew is young and unproven, they are relatively deep. There is not a lot left for him....

Fans have to let the wishing and hoping go...

Quick-hit thoughts around NFL & Pats - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

. Watching Tebow in practice the last two days, it brought back recollections of something Bill Belichick said a while back when it came to quarterbacks with a knack for running. If I recall, the idea was that there is a necessary commitment teams must make if they go with a running quarterback, because the offense essentially has to be built around that quarterback. The issue is what if that quarterback gets injured? Do you have a No. 2 who can do the same thing?........ So I’m starting to buy the line of thinking that Tebow’s greatest value to the team might come as a scout-team quarterback, if he ultimately sticks.

Tebow may not be the most talented player on this roster, but what he brings to the table is hard work, determination,a class guy from head to toe and is the kind of guy you huddle around in the locker room when down on the scoreboard at halftime and get jacked up for the second half.

I don't know how or what he is going to do on this team, but I see very little chance he is cut......Belichick will find a way to keep this guy on the roster and don't bet against Tebow playing some kind of role during the season that directly points him out to have made a key play to win a game.

He's going to see the field ths year.....not as a QB unless Brady goes down, but he'll be out there.

Unless he shows he can be productive in some capacity on the field this preseason, I don't see him making the roster.

I think its very realistic that Tebow makes the roster and the main reason being is that Belichick has carried 3 Quarterbacks many times in the past.

Tebow as a 3rd string QB makes a lot of sense, because he can contribute as the scout team QB to prepare for the Russel Wilsons, Cam Newtons, Kaepernicks, Lucks etc, he can contribute in various areas on special teams which is an important role and Matthew Slater has made a career of it so far for us and is a team captain, he can play some H-Back or Full Back. He could play some Tight End in big goal line packages as a 3rd or 4th "TE" that has athletic ability, ala Mike Vrabel.

and... should we find ourselves in a bad QB situation where Brady and Mallet both go down with injury, there is no other 3rd string QB I would rather have than Tebow lol!

Also, with all of this Hernandez stuff in the media and the Alfonzo Dennard stuff, im sure Kraft and BB wouldnt mind having a high character guy like Tebow around and on the roster.

My prediction is that he will make the roster as an emergency QB and he will find ways to contribute on special teams and in the running game in some packages.

I don't know what Bill's and Josh's plans are for him. We shall see. He has zero chance of replacing Brady so there's not really any reason to be "frustrated" by anything.

Besides camp isn't everything. Cassel had a horrific camp in 2008 and things (thankfully) got better for him in the season.

I am a BIG Tebow fan and I don't know if he makes the roster, if he helps the team or if he ever plays another meaningful down in the NFL.

What I do know is the Patriots gave him a real shot and that is all that has mattered for a long time .

The article was also silly , it took what was obviously a funny moment by fans with a sense of humor and blew it out of proportion in order to squeeze out just one more article about Tebow .

No worries about Tebow chants. There aren't enough security personnel and MSP details in Gillette to save anyone dumb enough to do it.

I think TT will be cut by game 4...

why wouldn't he just be cut before season then?
