Re: BB's Presser on Wednesday..

BB will issue a prepared statement reviewed by the ownership and legal staff. It will 'cover' everything he wishes to communicate it wil basically repeat the previous statements issued by the organization and ownership.

He will then say in some manner that is the only thing he as to say on the subject and the response to all other AH questions will be that e is there to talk about the team, AH is no longer a member of the team and further wuestions will be that he is there to talk about the NE Patriots and that AH is no longer a mmeber of the team.

The media whill howl and be outraged and rip BB, he and the fans won't give a flying..

I will laugh at the media outrage.

+1

This is EXACTLY what will happen.

Re: BB's Presser on Wednesday..

The thing that has to be kept in mind here is that the only reason BB talks to the press during the season is that it is mandated by the NFL... thus his oft disdain for all of them...

Kind of like wearing cut off Rebook, never mind Nike sweats, it is because he has disdain for stupid rules...

This may be different, his goal will be to take the focus of AH off of the team and its players, so everyone can move on with the least amount of distractions during TC and subsequent press conferences... I suspect he will give more information than he usually does, and would not be surprised if he worked with a media expert on presentation and content.

He will then be able to say, "we have already discussed AH at length prior to the beginning of Training Camp.", the players will be able to say, "Coach Belichick already addressed this situation prior to the beginning of Training Camp."

No matter what he does the media will be mightily pissed off and will continue to want their pound of flesh, and any transgression or loss will be because of this.. but after this BB will focus only on the players on the team.

Re: BB's Presser on Wednesday..

I don't think there will be a statement at all. I think he'll come out and talk about how the players are doing in camp, saying it's early and all that, and then open to questions.

If he gets an AHern questions, "I'm really just concerned with players on this team." And he'll keep saying that and eventually leave early.

I'm not expecting any comment period.

Re: BB's Presser on Wednesday..

The neanderthal press are beginning to salivate, suspect by 2:00 PM they will be in full fledged drool.....

No matter what he says, it will not be good enough..

Bill Belichick speaks! But will he say anything? | Sports - Patriots | providencejournal.com | The Providence Journa - The Providence Journal
Iam constantly amazed from all media writers who want players and coaches to display publicly their 'human side' and 'emotion' to qualify them as worthy in their eyes even if its not in their nature. Absolutely stupid.

Re: BB's Presser on Wednesday..

A more balanced article.

Y! SPORTS

Make no mistake, Belichick owes the media nothing. Perhaps he owes a little more to New England fans, but even that's debatable. It's not like he ever made himself out to be the sage of the region, counted on to lead the masses in times of uncertainty.
He's the local pro football coach. He's there to win games. He delivers, and then some, on that task. If he wants to say nothing, it's his right.
Still, Belichick will do plenty for his reputation if he takes inquiries into such an historic story with at least a modicum of patience and perspective. Belichick is highly intelligent and, contrary to his news-conference demeanor, is mostly engaging, charismatic and interesting. The say-nothing approach is as much a coaching tactic as anything else.

I can hear the media sharpening their knives and rehearsing their outrage. Personally, I could care less what BB has to say regarding AHern. I am excited to see our mediots in action along with their subsequent over reactions.

Comcast laying on thick....."Unprecedented news conference".....really?

All this hype and all he will do is read a prepared statement and then refuse to comment on it again for the rest of the season.

After he reads the prepared statement:

Reporter: blah blah Aaron Hernandez blah blah blah

BB: Next question

repeat

Comcast mediots explain media looking for a pound of flesh from BB.......Yes....reporters reporting on reporters. Extremely valuable info

Curran be interviewed now. Talking about Belichick's relationship with the media. Says that Belichick could have defused "spygate" by being more forthcoming with the media.

Yeah, that would have solved everything. :bricks:

Not mentioning Hernandez by name.

It's live now; nice move taking the podium 9 minutes before Hernandez is due in court.

BB seems genuinely hurt by the situation.

It wouldn't have solved everything, but we wouldn't be hearing about it nearly as much years later. The organization could have slammed the media for Spygate and they decided to leave the fanbase holding the bag. Look at how the Saints reponded to Bountygate, arguably a more controversial scandal. When was the last time you heard about it? Now when's the last time you heard about Spygate? Exactly.

But I don't put that on Belichick. I put that on Kraft.

"we only have time for questions regarding one aaron today, aaron dobson. any questions about aaron? okay lets move on"

What else? Is he talking Hernandez at all?

He's talking about Hernandez he just will not use his name. He basically is saying the piece of **** involved in this isn't worthy of me saying his name.

Good for BB he gave Hernandez a shot and he didn't give a rats ass. It always hurts worse when you stop to help a 3 legged dog and it bites you.

He seems really disappointed and shocked.

That will be the last thing we hear about Aaron Hernandez from somebody employed by the New England Patriots
