Tebow, Blount, Edelman

Blount can run a little, with the right blocking, and Bolden can get you a PED hookup. What can Winn do?

Runs with explosion, plays special teams, has played FB and is a good third down pass blocker. Ideal 3rd down back as I see it.

He has not proven that he is better than Mallet. He is clutch? What was the score of the last game he started? He certainly did not look clutch against the worst Patriots defense I've ever seen.

What has Mallet done in his NFL career to prove that he is better than Tebow?

There's not a lot to go off of on Mallet but in his limited experience he is a whopping 1 for 4 passing for 25% completion, and 1 INT. He has -9 rushing yards on 8 attempts.

Well, he didn't have enough time to play and prove himself, right? That's what you would say?

Tebow, before his first ever NFL starts WAS put into the games during real situations, not just garbage time. His first pass attempt ever in the NFL was a touchdown completion. Prior to that, he had 2 TDs on 8 rushing attempts.

So, if you want to be fair to Mallet and just compare the few snaps he had last year, to Tebow's rare snaps before he ever started...

Tebow wins easily. It's not even close.

Yes - I can. Tebow blows and will never be an NFL starting quarterback again.

He is competing for a tight end spot and will be an emergency quarterback. He will be lucky to make this team.

This is why the debate will never end...its the "absolute" opinions like the one above :

"Tebow blows and will never be an NFL starting quarterback again. "

comments like that are not only incendiary they are biased and quite frankly foolish.

Two thoughts here:

(1) That INT was entirely on Visanthe Shiancoe, who got cut after that INT.
(2) Those "rushing attempts" are called "kneeldowns."

Im not saying he's a bad runner, just overrated.

If you'd like I can discuss his atrocious 3.2 YPC last season as a wildcat QB... Or I can talk about his statistical decline in production on the ground in Denver once the league started to figure him out. Or I can talk about a group of some of the best running QBs in the league like Kaep and show that Tebow is inferior as a runner to most of them....

This is laughable. The Jets put Tebow in, and Sparano made him do one thing and one thing only. Run right up the middle. How hard is that to stop? I'm amazed he didn't lose yardage on every single play.

BTW, Tebow is not a Wildcat QB. That is not his game. He is a Spread Option QB. The media and genius Jets coaches decided to have him be a Wildcat QB.

Prove to me that the other QBs are superior runners than Tebow. I don't mean 40 yard dash times in shorts. I mean with pads on and in the game.

The league did not figure out Tim Tebow... the league figured out Mike McCoy and John Fox. The league figured out Tony Sparano and Rex Ryan.

Hey Ironman - would Tim Tebow be on a NFL roster had the Patriots not signed him after he was cut?

You can think that Tebow is a starting caliber QB all you want. The fact remains that Tebow is not a starting quarterback in this league and that has been proven in Denver and New York.

This is his last chance to be in the NFL. Once he is cut by the Patriots, his career will be over.

Ah, ok. Didn't know that about the kneel downs. Good point.

But as far as INTs... no QB gets the benefit of the doubt on that. Unfortunately, it's a QB stat. A lot of INTs are not the QBs fault.

This is a lazy argument. Tom Brady may never have started a game in the NFL if Bledsoe didn't get injured. That doesn't mean the talent wasn't there.

No offense Christiancat, but these people will never accept Us and Tim's type... Inherently, they have something against us... Whether it's our morals and values or envy about the faith that they don't have... We sicken them... In their pretty green liberal World, it's ok to persecute Christians...Especially white, successful ones.. It just comes with the territory I guess.. It's a shame really... But Christiancat, as a Christian you have to agree that the persecution of Christians has gotten at an all time high?... God Bless

I can certainly see Tebow doing well in Training Camp and the preseason, and yet, not making the 53 man team.

If this were to be the case, I think it quite possible that another team would sign him as a #2 or #3. Personally, I haven't a clue as why JAX didn't sign him.

I am looking forward to the day when Tebow gets cut. That will be toward the end of August when he can't hit the broadside of a barn in game 2 of the pre-season.

Starting caliber quarterbacks don't get cut twice by two other teams.

Remember that.

Would Tom Brady be in the NFL if he hadn't been drafted in the 6th round by us?

Because the Jaguars are probably waiting to sign him after the Pats release him and continue their run of signing former Patriots. I'm being sarcastic of course because they have already indicated that they still like Gabbert.

Lets' see. I think that Tom would have said yes and I am sure that he would have worked just as hard to get to where he got in his career for any other team that signed him in 1999.

This is not an issue of persecuting Christians. Tebow is a polarizing figure due to the way he plays QB, and just so happens to be a Christian.

This is one of those myths that has been repeated so often that is accepted as fact. Even though people like Trey Wingo seem to delight in stating this (if you don't believe me, watch his face light up as he smiles more than he does at any other time next time he gets a chance to do so), the reality is that Belichick was extremely close to making Brady the starter of training camp in 2001, and would have made the change soon after even without Mo Lewis.

For anybody that wasn't following the Pats very closely (or at all) at the start of the 2001 season, I highly recommend that you take the time to read Education of a Coach and Patriot Reign while awaiting the start of the 2013 NFL season.

The point is, just because other teams don't want a player, it doesn't mean that they have no value which was your argument.

Starting caliber quarterbacks don't get cut twice by two other teams.

Also, there's not many arguing that Tebow should be a starter for us which makes this a bit a straw man argument. I'd also say that Brian Hoyer (cut by three teams), whilst not starter quality certainly has the qualities to be a good backup.

Tebow is a polarizing figure because people think that he is a good quarterback and he is not.

But hey - if he can be the 4th tight end on this team, play special teams, be the emergency quarterback and hopefully compete against Danny Aiken for the long snapper job instead of occupying one roster spot solely for the purpose of having a long snapper, then we hope that Tebow accepts the role and is a part of the roster.

He was cut from one team and traded by another. TheBroncos didn't trade Tim Tebow for a box of cookies. When Denver traded him it was because Peyton Manning was going to take his place. Now I am no Peyton Manning fan, but how many decent Quarterbacks would get traded if they had the opportunity to bring in Peyton Manning. I say many NFL teams would cut their current starting QB to bring in Brady or Peyton Manning. Is Tim as good as Tom Brady or Peyton Manning no, but he's not as bad as some make him out to be. Also bear in mind Peyton and Brady have way more experience than Tim.
