What new player do you really hope hits it big?

Tough call because if Amendola doesn't deliver they are really screwed, he has to make up at least 2/3 of what they lost with Welker. Other than that it's Dobson because they don't have anything at WR if he doesn't.

Agreed. I think Amendola/Welker swap could prove to be risky. However, there is a much greater ceiling with Amendola, but the floor is just as big.

Hopefully Dobson turns out to be the future player we all expect him to be (and not another Chad Jackson, Brandon Tate, or Taylor Price)

One of the new WRs absolutely has to step up, so I'm going to say Dobson. Collins is the next choice, as I see it.

refuse to pick just one

Amendola, Dobson, and Sudfeld on offense

Adrian Wilson on defense.

Aaron Dobson. After this entire offseason of critics scrutinizing our offense and receiving core I would love to see him hit the ground running and shut up all the doubters.

Aaron Dobson---hands down.

We certainly will need someone to step up and contribute, and Dobson would be the ideal choice in my opinion.

I agree about Dobson, we need someone to stretch the field and be a big red-zone receiver.

I also wanna see Armstead and Collins make big impacts on the defense.

Jamie Collins. It would be great to have him become a beast at rushing the QB. That man's athletic ability is off the charts. I just hope he can harness it and use it well on the field.

Gotta agree with Bill's biggest investment. He goes all maniacal on the D and it won't matter so much if the offense only puts up 25 per game.

I hope they all play good.... But I really want to see Tim succeed and prove his haters, naysayers, critics and persecutors wrong... Tim deserves it, and the Pats deserve it for signing him..... God Bless

You know, Tim probably wouldnt have any of these haters, naysayers, critics and persecutors if it werent for over the top TT homers who fantasize, worship and obsesses about the guy.

These people show up in the darnedest places and show that they are only about some TT defending agenda. It's tiresome, juvenile and dare I say pathetic.

Oh BTW God Bless.

It's going to be like this all year. Why Belichick wanted this circus in town is beyond me. My guess is it's an ego thing and he wants to be the one to transform Tebow into a decent NFL player, then people can say "What a genius he is."

Sudz, Collins, Armstead, and why not Dobson?! 2 on O, 2 on D.

I don't have to hope for Ballard, he's going to kick some serious ass!

Shhhhh...let them find out on their own.

I wanted to run on the field and break his legs the last time the G-men played the Pats...the kid humiliated our secondary.

As much as I like Amendola, Dobson, Ballard and Collins at this stage of the season, which is a lot speculative...

Instead of one gotta go with our D backfield.. if they are healthy and after a few games of playing together, they should be a credible force to be reckoned with. With them, other parts of the D should fall into place...

Looking forward to the experience and leadership of Wilson, and the continued maturation of McCourty..

Amendola, to shut the Welker whiners the hell up

Hi y'all. I don't post often (crippled hands make it difficult & I'm too damn old to use all those code letters you younger folks understand) but I was surprized at the lack of Boyce's name being mentioned much. Here's a guy that ran a real fast 40 yard dash (2.38?) with a broken toe. Hey, I've had a broken toe and I gotta tell ya, that can really hurt - I couldn't even run, much less run fast.

So, I don't expect him to be the super star of this year's team..; but I do *hope* he has some success and surprizes everyone. The man has some grit. Remember how, two year's ago, many here were complaining about the wasted pick on Riddley when BB had already picked Vareen? You just never know.

By the way, I'm a Yank all the way. Born in Vermont, early years in Maine and teen years in Connecticut. Then I joined Uncle Sam's Misguided Children and started touring the world... just never bothered to stop. But I still love my Pats!

Boyce is a great pick. After Amendola its a crap shoot at WR. He has the toughness of a Givens with much more highly developed skills as a receiver. Also has lots of big plays on his resume. I think Boyce will be more productive next year than Dobson. Cheers!

If by "hit it big," you mean these type of (loose) comparisons... in their prime:

Amendola = Welker
Dobson = Fitzgerald
Boyce = S. Smith
Collins = Ware
Armstead = JJ Watt
Wilson = Rodney
Ballard = another Gronk

I'd have to say this team could use a Fitzgerald the most. Followed by a Welker and then a Ware.

Though he isn't new, I am hoping Edelman finally breaks out because we need him to. He showed flashes last season. Then, of course, there's Amendola. The guy has mad game and could easily replace Welker statistically, but we are all well aware that Welker has proven to be far more reliable. We'll see.

If I had to pick only one, and it had to be someone new: Collins

If I had to pick only one, and it didn't have to be someone new, just someone who in my view would make the biggest overall difference for the team if he hit it big: Dowling

I can see the logic in picking Dobson or Amendola, but to me this team will be good enough on offense, even without Welker and <him>, so my hopes are that the defense will continue the improvement trend I thought they started last year.

Amendola and Blount

Can't say I want Tebow to hit it big this year because that means Brady got injured.
