I generally agree with your assessment but the Rat and Tannenbaum don't have clean hands even if they were used as tools of the POS.

Yeah - you're probably right.

In fact Tannenbaum and Johnson were likely fanning the flames about how Belichick was thumbing his nose at Goodell with Belichick's "interpretation" of the rule as written (no sideline filming for use on game day - and of course for BB this is about post game analysis and future game consideration)

They had a high incentive to see the Pat's penalized to be sure - and we all know that some suspect Goodell has a soft spot for the NYJ as well.

Yea - that was one of the reasons why Belichick advised him not to take the Jets HC position.
Umm, it was THE reason.

If you knew how to read
Are you really sinking to that?

you would have read from me that there a number of reasons why BB didn't want Mangini to take the Jets job and that was clearly a documented case that was published in the media as to one of the reasons why because Belichick spurned the Jets because of the same ownership issues that they were having when they brought in Mangini for an interview.
No it was THE reason.

Belichick had the same concerns when he was with the Patriots regarding the Jets ownership situation and he did look to Mangini as the coaching future of the Patriots whether you like it or not.
There is absolutely no evidence or even cause to jump to the conclusion that Belichick was grooming Mangini as his replacement.
Belichick was teaching Mangini, and Manigini was doing a decent job growing within the system. He was a very long way from heir apparent.

As for my sources regarding how and when Mangini was going to be looked to as the next head coach for the Patriots as BB's successor, that is none of your business and I can say that considering my work in the Boston sports media field with NESN and the Patriot Ledger.
So in other words you made it up?
Can you link me to some of this work you did in the Boston Sports Media? Can you show me some indication where you gained this knowledge that no one else has?

Finally - I never said that Mangini and Wesleyan went to school together. I said that their relationship developed because of their Wesleyan connection and it was in part because they were a part of the same fraternity.
No thats not what you said.

Have a nice day Andy.

Thanks, I am.

People do learn. I doubt Belichick will ever entirely trust Mangini or that they'll work together again (though I wouldn't rule it out, either, remember how bad it was between Parcells and Belichick and they ironed things out), but I bet Mangini will never make the mistake of throwing someone under the bus again.

Once a rat always a rat.

Once a rat always a rat.
Even a rat can figure out that actions have consequences (ever see a rat bite into a piece of electrified cheese? It'll eventually figure out to leave it alone). Mangini's not so dumb as to not understand what's obvious to everyone else: if he squeals on someone in the coaching fraternity again, he can kiss an NFL career goodbye. I'm guessing he deeply regrets Spygate. Not that I'll ever forgive him for it, but I wouldn't expect him to do it again.

I think the only thing the rat regrets is the consequences. That he would do it to his proverbial father in the coaching fraternity is even more evidence of his total lack of characterthan the deed itself. I can wish only failure for him and everyone that hires him.

Pete Carroll & the other coaches in the NFC West had better watch their backs! What's he consulting on, "How to ferret out "cheaters"?"

That is more than fine if some of you want to mock me. I really don't care......

Just to know this - By the age of 22, I have interviewed the likes of Roger Clemens, Mo Vaughn, Ray Bourque, Cam Neely, and Jeremy Roenick just to name a few while having the pleasure of working for NESN when its' offices were still at Fenway Park and worked with folks like Ron Hobson at the Ledger and Tom Larson at NESN.

That is what happens when, at age 13, you take your first job as a journalist working for The Spectator covering high school sports.

So, please go ahead and continue to look like fools. I am probably the only one on these boards who can say that by the age of 18, I was already working in the Boston sports medium thanks to a college friend by the name of John Tapper.

Until you reveal your name you can't claim legitimacy. That's how it works.

You can't stay anonymous and still try to derive the benefits of your identity.

Thats' fine Doc and I am not trying to claim legitimacy because frankly claiming legitimacy on a message board is irrelevant. With that said, when someone tries to belittle me, I am going to defend myself.

As for any current or former journalist, sources expect some form of agreement on the ability to disclose or not disclose who the source is and what information was passed along and to be honest with you, I don't know what kind of information that members of this message board is looking for that was sourced because it really wasn't asked of me.

Either way - I am more than comfortable with what was stated by me regarding Mangini and the Patriots former position that he was being groomed to become the head coach of the Patriots after BB decided to move into the front office on a full-time basis.

So far you have offerend an opinion, called it fact, and then tried to prove it was fact by claiming you were 'part of the Boston sports media' and then claimed you met writers while working for a high school newspaper.
What in that gives you insight into Bill belichicks relationship with and career plans for Eric Mangini?
If you have that inside information I would find it very interesting but so far you just seem to be giving an opinion and associating yourself with people that wouldn't have it either because you wrote in a HS newspaper. I'm not getting it.

Hard to argue with this. I don't care who someone is in the Boston sports media, Belichick's not going to share his plans for the future with them.

There is more than one way to skin a cat and information can be had from other sources regarding something like this as Andy knows....

From the Red Sox perspective, there have been traditionally more leaks within their organization than most ballclubs and with that said, even with the Patriots, you can get information, as long as you work within parameters.

Right. Its just a made up thing that no one ever had any real information about.
People speculate wildly, and in time think it was fact.

I stayed at a Motel 6 for an hour once.....

Reads like sumpthin OffTheGrid would post. But it kinda clashes because I always envision Grid as being about 15 years old.
Grid, that you? Laying off the bold type and gigantic font and going commando on us?
