Well looks like we know the first candidate for the "redshirt" year

I thought we knew that already? Hence the rave reviews of him running a 4.3 40 with a bust foot.

Yes, we knew this already.

According to the Globe this morning, "He is recovering from a fracture at the base of his pinky toe." Not sure if he'll be ready for tomorrow's AFCCG.

He's had a broken bone in his foot for some time now, so this isn't exactly news.

If that happens, the coaching staff might as well cut him this season and save themselves the trouble. The chances of a redshirt year working out for the player in the future, as we all have seen, is pretty unlikely (though it has happened here and there).

Mr. Brady says hi

This would be amusing if we all weren't 95% sure that you are being serious. It must be a damned sad world you live in T, that you have such a negative outlook on everything.

BTW- how is it everyone seemed to have missed that the part of the article that says that he should be ready for TC? Oh, that little tidbit would make this line to thinking much less sensational....and we are all about the sensational here.

Yep, he was one of the few I was thinking of. Though, in fairness, it helped Brady to be constantly on the sideline in game situations as a rookie and partly through his sophomore campaign. He also had a guy who was considered a very good quarterback at the time to learn from on top of the coaching staff.

The redshirt guys, for the most part, have limited contact with the team. So I'm sure that extended contact, as compared to his redshirt peers in the years proceeding, helped Brady. Nevertheless, I was hard pressed to think of a few of them who did work out. I can think of a lot more that didn't work out for the better. Try to deny that if you will, but the facts support that position.

We're writing Boyce off for the season over a broken little toe?

It sounds like Triumph is. I have high expectations for Boyce. I think he's going to be a hit in this offense.

I agree .that Boyce is going to be a great player for us. Smart and physically gifted. He also has the intangibles that other failed receivers did not have.
I also like the fact that he can show up on game days against the Dolphins and wave his butt at them

You didnt say more likely than not you said cut him and save the trouble.
Nice that we didn't do that with Brady, or Ben Watson.
There also aren't all that many examples of failing as you think. Dumb premise anyway, a guy suffers a season ending injury in preseason of his rookie year, and you are arguing to not just cut them instead, you would need proof that more of those guys succeed than fail. Your point fails, epically.

As other stated, this is a known and relatively minor injury. ESPN Boston sensationalized it a bit by saying it was a broken bone in his foot rather than be specific by stating it is a broken pinkie toe. Boyce will be ready for training camp, if not minicamp.

So, what we're all saying is that Boyce is made of glass?

Heh....... I love football humour. :singing: :rocker:

I, too, think he's going to be fine and a solid addition to this team.

I can see it already. Every week injury report

Probable
Boyce - Foot injury

Goes on to average 6 catches a game for 60 yards and 0.5 TDs
