Seeing that we do not have a draft forum I'll post this here. With the loss of Branch and Troy Browns age the Pats could use a good slot receiver. Higgins has been flying under the radar and might be available ala Branch in the second round of the draft. Has anyone seen him play enough to give a evaluation?

He won't be under the radar anymore when runs a 4.3.
But I like him; the Pats need some who can get out of their breaks quickly.

I live in El Paso, and therefore got to watch Higgins a LOT.

He NEEDS to strenghten up. He is extremely frail and shys away from contact.
He always manages to find a way to get open. His route running is mediocre, but that may be because of bad coaches. He knows how to read defenses, and knows where the open spot is in the zone. He gets jammed at the line a lot.

He's on my short list of WRs for the Pats. If we go day one for a receiver, the only four I'd consider would be:

Robert Meachem
Anthony Gonzalez
Higgins
Chansi Stuckey

Stuckey, no longer a sleeper pick, may now be the favorite to replace Troy in the slot. Syvelle Newton is a real sleeper on day two.
