DRAFT Welcome to the New England Patriots, TCU WR Josh Boyce

Some saying he could be a steal in the 4th round...lets hope

And if he does become the steal of the 4th round, it makes it that much more gratifying that the Pats stole him from the Dolphins

Seriously, that is some of the worst QB play I've ever seen. WTF?

Not to worry anyone, but that's exactly what people were saying when Taylor Price was drafted.

At least Boyce did play with a respectable QB in Pachall at one point.

He also played with Andy Dalton as a freshman, and put up pretty good numbers. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Even with a bad QB, Boyce still produced.

He also played with Andy Dalton as a freshman, and put up pretty good numbers. The difference between Price and Boyce is that, even with a bad QB, Boyce still produced. The problem with price was twofold, the second part being that he played in a very simplistic offense that demanded very little of its receivers.

Don't worry, I'm not thinking Boyce is another Pryce. In fact, Boyce is probably my favourite pick of the draft.

Boyce had 66 catches for 891 yards last year... I'm surprised his QB had 66 completions.

He had just got off the phone with the Dolphins, who told him he was their next pick, when the phone rang again....

A recent foot injury may have pushed Boyce down a round, but he’s not complaining.

“You never know,” he said. “I’m just glad God gave me the opportunity to get drafted. I can go forward from there.”

Let's hope he doesn't fire his agent for that slip in draft order.

" Brady had a 28"....I think that we can stop right there....since Tom Brady is regarded as one of if not THE most intelligent football mind in the history of the game....I think a "23" is gonna be just fine...

QUOTE=goheels22002;3440244]23 is not bad. RG3 had a 24. Brady had a 28.

This guy is a solid pick in the 4th round as a competitor at the slot. He's got good hands and can run over people. The slot receiver just got much younger than Welker and much cheaper.[/QUOTE]

I hope he isn't like Taylor Price here...ended up being a bust...struggled to learn the Playbook ...and went from having a chance to play with Blaine "Showtime" Gabbert ..damn talk about a fall from grace...

Ohio was basically a running team with a simple offense. I think JB definitely is more prepared for the NFL.

Someone said he's like Boldin with less heft and more speed...so think of Heinz Ward as a comparable player and you probably aren't going to be too far off in terms of play style.

If he turns out anywhere near as good as Hines Ward I am going to be a happy ************.

I really like the pick and believe that both he and Dobson are going to contribute big time this season.

I know it's college highlights but the more I watch Boyce the more I think he could be the steal of this Pats draft class.

I was looking at some video of the TCU/Boise St game in '11 when TCU went in there in an upset them.

On the 2 point conv. the TE screws up and starts to motion and Boyce immediately calls a time out and then when the play is actually run he does his best Boldin impression to convert the 2 points.

Then I also got a little kick out of seeing that he outplayed Austin and Bailey when TCU went against WVU last year. I know it doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things and Boyce was going against the WVU secondary and Austin and Bailey were going against the TCU secondary.

I thought this part of the article was funny:

In 2011, Boyce had 163 yards and three touchdowns in TCU’s heart-stopping win at Boise State in 40-degree weather. And last fall he came up huge late at West Virginia in 30-degree weather (it felt much colder to me on the sidelines during the fourth quarter). Boyce burst on the scene nationally when he led TCU with 126 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-7 rout at Utah in 2010. It wasn't that cold that day in Salt Lake City, but as hot as Boyce was it wouldn't have mattered.

“I’m pretty comfortable in cold weather,” he said.

40 and 30 degree weather is spring around here.

30 degrees farenheit is -1 degrees celsius

30 degrees farenheit is -1 degrees celsius

And 270 degrees Kelvin!

30 degrees farenheit is -1 degrees celsius

Foxboro in January runs between 18 - 36 F and that is before wind chill. By comparison, this beautiful spring morning in May was a balmy ~40F. Referencing 40F games as "cold weather" games is a bit off base.

Boyce reminds me a lot of Ravens WR Torrey Smith. Similar body types and speed (Boyce is actually faster).

Branch had a 26, FWIW.
I have been posting that Bb apparently decided he was through with the dumb divas at WR. BB included smarts as a prerequisite to be considered as well.

A fact I didn't know was that both Boyce and Dobson not only actually graduated from college, they both had graduated from college in less than 4 years! Boyce as reported, spent his senior season playing football and going to Graduate School.

So neither are dummies, unlike Tavon Austin, Cordarelle Patton, or Ocho Stinko, denizens of illiteracy, and the single digit Wonderlic scores, and off the field troubles.
