What is means is that the game has changed to favor the offense. Our OFFENSE has not been good enough (or healthy enough) to win Super Bowls recently.
Obviously our defense can improve, and is improving. BUT in 5 of the last seven years, the SB winners have not been top defenses.
We need to be able to stretch the field against good defense. Our offense NEEDS to be unpredictable against good defense. Brady is capable of using 8 or even more receiving targets (3 WR, 3 TE, 2 RB), throwing to the open man, not caring at all who it is. We have been diverted by the greatness of Welker in the slot. We now need to extend the field.

I don't know what this means, but I do know that the 2007-12 offense was uber-elite, and yet it really struggled in the playoffs, certainly compared to its regular season production.
Very weird.
