Tune into 97.7 or 107.3 to hear him talk about the concussion story.. It will be on before 10am..

any summaries out there for out-of-towners?

He brought up more of the Red-Shirt/Blue SHhrt practice stuff and said he is conerned about NFL and NHL players risk of concussions. THis guy needs to find something to ocupy his time and is having trouble accpeting he's no longer an NFL player.

I didn't hear it but a friend told me that he said he was misrepresented in the Globe article. SUPRISE!! He was more getting the issue out there than trying to blame BB.

The globe did that???? Noooooo

For somebody whose so depressed that he can't get out of bed in the mourning, he sure seems to find the energy to parade the issue around pretty well. Don't get me wrong, if his concern is the safety of players all around the NFL then all the power to him. However, usually when you're as depressed as the Globe made him out to be, the last thing he would be doing is trying to make a public stance on the issue.

TJ should stay out of the media until he gets himself better.

Misrepresented you say by the Globe? No Way!

I doubt he was misrepresented at the time. This is just typical backpedaling from a guy who is having trouble figuring out what the heck he really wants and whose responsible for his life careening out of control (because he's not prepared to consider it might just be largely of his own doing).

from my side i really wish all the best for the future of Ted Johnson

sincerly good luck and i hope he will re-cover and he will continue with a normal life

i will remember him with us as a good player

Hear, hear. Well said Pat.

Well, unless he steps up and either asks Jackie Macugly to retract or correct or he states on the record with another writer somewhere, his comments still hold as "quoted" in that Glub article.

what still bothers me is how hes like "well i never knew this could happen".. Its an excuse.. to me if you had two concussions in a row wouldnt you do some research on your own? I know when i get some illness or something thats not the norm i research it on my own.. hes a grown up.. he should be able to tell when things arent right.. Theres definately blame on both sides.. i think hes trying to put it all on the pats..

Well, at the very least, not on himself.

Depression comes in many shades and colors. You have people who are manic depressive, other who are biplor, other suffers milder forms, etc. some people who seem perfectly happy end up committing suicide.

I don't doubt it at all. remember when Jackie Macmullen published that article the day before the Jets (or Chargers?) game about how Samuel said his contract was going nowhere with the Pats and how he wanted to be paid?

Remember how upset some of us were with him for saying this the day before a playoff game? And how when asked, Samuel said that interview was months ago?

Cheap, shoddy sensationalism. No reason to think she is still not looking to put her name in a spotlight, using the Globe mantra of truth boring, controversy exciting. We find it misleading, but to her, it was perect. Her article was picked up all over the country. Maybe now she can get a radio show like Felger.

Someone will point out that she is only doing her job, which is to sell newspapers, and that is true. She is still a weasel for doing what she is doing, though.

To be fair, unless things have changed, it is usually editors who decide when articles/stories are run unless they are by chance a columnist. I'm not defending her anti-establishment bias (pro-player) but exactly when her story may go to press probably isn't in her control.
