When the same two teams have met in consecutive years for the conference Title, the team who won the first game also won the second game.....a record that now stands at 12-0 for the past 60+ years......Thats an amazing trend.

It looks like the Ravens have a lot of history against them if you consider these trends and history for anything more than just results from the past

Also some other cool info on Conference Championship history from SI's Don Banks..............

History not on Ravens' side as they try to get revenge on Patriots - NFL - Don Banks - SI.com

Trend means nothing. You could probably find some equally obscure trend showing that the Patriots are up against the odds as well.

The Pats trend is they are 7-1 in AFCCGs and have never lost one at Gillette at this time.....I can't find any trends that would argue with this,if you have one then post it.

4 seeds are pretty successful in the AFCCG I think. Not sure what the number is exactly but I remember seeing just one loss (which happened to be us in 2006).

Since '99 they're 6-1. I think the situation is kind of similar this year to 2006 when we lost in the AFC championship game as the 4 seed. A lot of us attribute that loss to the fatigue and illness (also from traveling cross country the week before). Seems like the Ravens are in a similar situation with having just played a game into 2OT and playing something like 150+ defensive snaps the past 2 weeks.

With that said, none of these statistics have a big enough sample size to deduce anything from them.

Flacco on the cover of SI, Boldin pulling a Rex Ryan and predicting the victory. We know how well those work.

Theres just too much bad mojo for the Ravens to overcome.

So all we need is someone to turn up the thermostat at the Razor to 85 degrees and we are all set.

Lets just hope as the age old saying goes History repeats itself!

Let's stick with tradition...why complicate things.

But please don't.

The trends do mean something. They show that the Ravens are in a position in which a lot of teams have failed before. That's a very good thing/

Then again, I'm a Red Sox fan, and I heard "19-18" a ton at the Toilet until I stopped hearing it.....
