Ravens Can - Cam Cameron!

It makes sense for the Ravens. Ray Rice > Joe Flacco. Cam Cameron in his ultimate wisdom believed Joe Flacco > Ray Rice.

I think Cameron probably believed it's a passing league if you want to be competitive. Except that Joe Flacco never took to Cam Cameron. And whenever he was criticized he put it back on coaching. I think the Ravens have come to that crossroads where they have to figure out if it's the OC or the QB holding their offense back. Kinda like the Jets...

Flacco's deal is up. They have to decide whether to tag him or roll the dice on him being their franchise QB. Caldwell is his QB coach. He's never been an OC or playcalled for an offense. So this should be good. Gonna give Joe free reign and see what he does with it. He's been jonesing for more hurry up and more freedom to make/change calls at the line. We will see if that works or if Caldwell becomes his next ex OC.

This is a huge crossroads for the Ravens. Flacco thinks he's a top QB, and deserves top money. He'll point to 5 playoff seasons (assuming this year), his won-loss record, and where the Ravens were before he arrived. But he just hasn't taken his game to the next level, and it's a huge gamble for the Ravens to give him a big second contract without knowing whether his lack of progress was due to Cameron or to an inherent limitation. I wonder if they'll choose to use the Franchise Tag to buy a year to evaluate him further, or just make a decision based on the remainder of this season. Either way, it's going to be a big decision for that organization.
