What's garbage is the bandwagon fans who whine and complain and act like the sky is falling in every time something goes wrong..

The team as a whole, has a lot of talent...

Problem is,there is absolutely no talent once you pass the first two front rows of defense.

This is the worst secondary in all of football...and I don't think it's close.

The team isn't garbage......however it's secondary is TOTAL crap

There is not ONE player in this secondary who would start on ANY other team...not ONE

It's mind boggling. How the hell does he get beat out by Arrington?

I HATE playing the "what if" game and hindsight with the draft, but Sherman instead of Dowling and this team is 6-0. 32 teams passed on that stud 4 times over though.

as bill parcells says .. we are what we are.. and that is medicore.. thanks to the great defense and the lack of running game once again... the same reason why this team has not had 3 more super bowl wins then the should have...

I choose these words carefully as i don't want them to be misconstrued as an over reaction to this one game.

This team is a good team, we do a lot of things very well and some things great. Brandon spikes had a great game today and so did Chandler Jones and Wilfork with little to no rest.

But this team will continue to frustrate us and let us down in pivotal situations because the fact remains that when a team passes the ball middle to deep, runs play action or just throws up jump balls we more often than not give up the play.

I can't count how many times over the last 2-3 years we have had offenses backed up, in trouble or in the spot we want them only to have our CBs, DB's or Safteys give up a big play to extend the drive.

I can't continue to defend this secondary because the fact remains they are the worst secondary i have seen in the league and you can have all of the good pieces you like but when you have a weakness as glaring and as exploitable as our secondary is... i just can't see how we can beat elite teams consistently. Which lets face it is how we judge our patriots team.

I don't know what the answer is but all i know is if i was an opposing coach i would Run, Run, Play action deep ball consistently against us as Russell Wilson showed put it up there and the pats will either give you a flag or give up the catch.

Yes we had our opportunities and we could have executed in x,y,z a position on offense but we all know why we lost this and most other games this year.

I am one frustrated Pats Fan today boys.

I've been saying this since last year only to be ridiculed and told "I dont have a clue". It's inexcusable to have continued this long, having this sad secondary on a high caliber team like this. We sit back and watch Brady's years slip away. It's VERY frustrating. And we will continue to see it until these guys are replaced or recoached.

This secondary absolutely blows and I blame it on coaching. BB admitted that they coach the corners to play the hands of the recievers and not look for the ball. This ultimately leads to the big plays downfield and the predictable pass interference penalties. If the corners turned their head to the ball on any of the 20+ yard passes we might have won this game. the gameplan for any qb playing the pats should be to throw it high and tight deep down the sideline and you'll either get the catch, the penalty, or BOTH. the safetys are always late to the sidelines on the deep ball. I hope they leave chung in seattle. hes not worth extending in the offseason. I wish we signed Dashon Goldson last year. :bricks:

I might need to change my sig.

Not after the coaches are done with him

You produce that many high daft pick failures in the secondary, it is time to start looking into something other than the players

Well, The problem is that that the definition of failure for most of the fans on this board is anyone who isn't an all-pro 30 seconds after they are drafted. People on here are so quick to anoint someone a failure even though they are learning the defense (Ebner, Wilson, Dowling, Gregory). Most people on this board don't know what patience is. They don't know that things take time. They expect instant results.

Oh, and way too many people aren't willing to give credit where credit is due. Such as when the opposing players make an outstanding play.

If I thought I could trust random people on the internet, I would indeed bet you. I'm 80% sure Jets will win
You're afraid. Another anonymous internet hero.

you let tickle me pete and russel wilson out play the hof coach and qb just deserts

this team is a 8-8 team... no way they should have lost that game but the great bb decides he can make pro bowlers out of ham and eggers and cut all our wr at training camp... this is the result.... no way this team loses to this team... poor coaching is to blame....

If any good can come out of this loss maybe we will finally start going away from the spread and going for more balance. As if the previous 2 games weren't proof enough that this offense is better off with a more balanced attack, maybe this 2nd half debacle will finally teach JMD something?

Where was the play action. When we did a play action I saw Seattle's pass rusher freeze in their steps. But no, let's go in the spread and put Brady under immediate pressure. Please abandon that **** asap

Attack your opponents weaknesses. That's what the Patriots should do. They got 400 yards in the first 3 qtrs.

Then they went to the run.

And they lost.

Blind n00b.

That is all I really have to contribute to this terrible thread. You may now continue.

If the Pats win the division...which they should, this is a Wild Card team with a home game.

If you wanted a bye week,I don't see that happening.

The Ravens are already a near insurmountable 3 games ahead of NE and just about guaranteed a bye week....and it's only October

IMO The only chance for a bye is no more losses and a win against Houston

But this division is far from being a runaway,it may come down to the final week

Re: Say all you want, AGAIN our offense was to blame

I agree, but only partially. 2 Fgs and 0 Touchdowns in the second half? Inexcusable. I love our QB, but Brady's play in the second half was pathetic at best. The defense is still to blame. This defense gave up 293 passing yards to a rookie QB... that has never thrown for over 200 yards, except against Carolina. His rating? 133...

The problem is the D. Our secondar can't cover if their lives depended on it. They gave up tons of big passing plays today. We can't win big games like that.

Ras-I-Dowling being a bust has really cost us this season.

Well Chung started out well....but he is on his way to Bustville, Mccourty overall has been a bust, Arrington? I'm not even sure what the Fck he is still doing here....I think Sergio Brown was better than him...and James Ihedigbo (or however you spell it) was better than him on ONE leg! Moore.?? (No pun intended)......puh-leeze....he sucks. Like you say Ras I has been a complete WHIFF by BB......Dennard I think will be good in the long run....but who knows......Our secondary is the laughing stock of the league right now. And....the clock is ticking on BB.....you can't keep making the same blunders over and over and over...and keep your job. He has proven that he CAN NOT get it done anymore....everyone keeps saying to me...what has he done without Weis and Crennel...and I have NO answer for them. 2007 was great for video game stats and high scores....but they didn't win the ring...WHICH IS ALL THAT COUNTS!!! You have to make the most of these opps........losing in 07 is ok....IF WE win it last year.

Re: Say all you want, AGAIN our offense was to blame

Why do all of these trolls IGNORE the fact that we just faced the #1 defense in the NFL??????

It's mind-boggling!

The game had nothing to do with the officials. Just stop, really.

I know it's blasphemy to talk ill of Belichick in New England, and rightfully so, but the play calling was horrible.

We let 24 seconds go to total waste at the end of the 1st half after our DEFENSE came up big for us and gave us a chance to really open the game up. We didn't even get a field goal out of it. That is COACHING and bad decision making.

In the second half, on both drives that ended in an interception, we were marching on the Hawks defense. Marching, marching, marching, wearing them down and cutting through them like butter with short gains. Instead of sticking with it we decide to go for knock out blows that become turn overs.

That game should of been 37-10 in the 4th against the best defense in the league. It should of sent a huge message to the rest of the league that the Patriots will not be stopped.

Instead we leave Seattle with a big fat loss.
