Patrick Chung vs Jarius Byrd

Why is it that the patriots when scouting the "2008 Oregon Ducks Secondary," didn't realize that there was a better play making safety in that backfield in Jarius Byrd? I can't believe we chose the wrong one! :bricks:

Erm, Byrd was a CB in College.....

And we needed a SS (we thought ****stick was the man at FS).....

I agree w/ you .. I just don't see what he brings to the table ... He wears pretty cool yellow shoulder pads, but that's about it ... For whatever reason he gets a pass from Pats fans ... And I always here his "reputation" ... reputation as what? I don't know ...

Chung is good at making huge hits on receivers after they make 20 yard receptions. He does have to work on catching direct snaps from the center on fake punts.
