The Official Patriots vs Giants game thread

Of special note is that the game is scheduled for 7PM instead of the usual 7:30.

The most important thing about the game tonight is that there are no injuries.

The talk is that a lot of the starters, including Brady and Gronkowski, will be sitting this one out. For those looking to get a long look at the bubble guys, this game's apparently going to be perfect for you.

Brady's out running WR routes, making it unlikely that he'll be playing, according to Howe and Reiss

One of the things for us to look at is how much playing time Hoyer gets. As I mentioned, if he gets at least 3 quarters, then I will wager that the Patriots are trying to trade him.

I also hope we get an extended look at Demps returning the ball, not Arrington, McCourty, or God forbid, Hernandez.

Expect to see Vollmer start at right tackle, Koppen get last, best shot at center to start as well.

As much as I like the sound of Vollmer being back....can we see more of Mallett & Hoyer and less of Brady please?

Hoyer was fitted for a body cast prior to the game.

Marcus Cannon needs all the game reps at right tackle that he can get prior to the regular season.

I would like to see a lot more of Mallett. He, not Hoyer is apparently the one that will take over from Brady when that time comes and it might be a lot sooner than most people think especially if they win another Super Bowl this season.

Am I alone in wanting to see Brady play a quarter? I just would feel a lot better about things seeing the starters put together a couple nice drives.

Zolak asked BB about the cuts. I'm reading into it (admittedly), but BB mentioned guys who couldn't participate in everything and the possibility that players could come back later, so I'm guessing* that's an insight into Gaffney returning if/when his quad is better.

I think this is what a few of us were thinking (hoping) all along. I don't think Gaffney has shown us much in his preseason games but its hard to deny the connection he had with Brady, especially in the 06 playoffs.
