NaPolian at it again

This is another motivation for the Pats players this Sunday. If the Colts win Sunday, I cannot imagine the verbal abuse heaped by NaPolian and his cohorts on the Pats for the whole year. Please, Go Pats:rocker:

Is that guy retarted or something?

That's called "spin-doctoring". Pollian is trying to set up the officials so they call penalties on (New England) pass defenders, so Pay-a-ton can finally win a big one. Pollian's boys do a lot of offensive holding, to buy time for their passing game, but Pollian doesn't say the officials should look for that; oh no, it's only *defensive* "infractions" he wants the refs to see. Hypocrisy, anyone?

Yeah, all of the sudden they're a bunch of bad asses on D.

omg exactly. There was only ONE pundit I've heard who actually pointed out that this "Bring The Pain" defense also happened to be up against 2 of the worst offenses in the league. I wish I could remember who it was-his name should be enshrined.

NaPolian has no confidence in his team, that much is obvious.
I'll never understand Colts fans' devotion to this franchise. I'd be embarrassed.

Hey, we stayed through the Victor Kiam years.

Polian needs to have a portable padded room to take with him during away games. He actually makes me feel sorry for the Colts fans, to have such an embarrassment as the Representative of their franchise.
Question - how is the competition committee made up? How are the members voted/appointed on it? How long are the terms?

Well KC's offense might not be the best, but they do have LJ and the Colts rushing D was the worst in the league by far. So what they were able to pull off wasn't too bad. As far as Baltimore's offense goes, they were only 5 spots behind New England's offense averaging 2 less points per game. I don't think that calling them the two worst in the league quite fits.

They hold on virtually every play and their recievers push off.

This is the crap that makes these Dolts match-ups suck. Instead of looking forward to the game, I am wondering if Polian is going to make the refs cheat for him.

Or change the rules after the game is played.

Totally ruins the game for me, and makes me hate the Dolts more than any other team by far.

Exactly - anyone who thinks this is going to blow up in Polian's face is naive.

I can see the "private" memo from Perriera now. Why the league has their collective head up this guys ***** - I'll never get.

Polian may be the #1 obstacle to us winning - bwyond Manning, Harrison, Wayne, or the revitalized run defense.

And it's going to happen. The question is not whether we can or cannot play physical. Rather, the question is whether Samuel playing the ball exclusively, and Hobbs shadowing without touching, is going to be enough to contain these guys.

Anybody else think this sort of sniping at the officials could backfire on a team? The officiating in this postseason has been a VAST improvement over last year. The zebras are doing an excellent job and are probably deservedly PO'd by this latest attack. If you were a ref, would you feel more inclined to call a borderline PI in the Colts favor now? Methinks not.

With the NFL and its manstream fan base, coventional wisdom does not reign. The "Karate Kid" / "Miracle on Ice" / "Rocky" mentality gets turned on its ear.

Scrappy underdog who wins ugly = God don't let them win again!

Team of all-stars/thugs/bullies = Yeah, kill 'em!

Polian bullying refs = We're sorry Bill! We'll watch out for that!

Why does Napolian have the exclusive right to "ORDER" the Officials to call the game a certain way? If I'm Bob Kraft, I go straight to the top and demand that my team has a "FAIR CHANCE" to win the game. For crying out loud, they are at home, they've already banned our fans from the game, what more do they want?

I think the boys, from BB on down, will bring to the attention of the appropriate persons that Indy is not as pure as the driven snow they claim to be. Holding on offense by Indy is just as wrong as pass interference by the Pats. If Pollian and the Colts want to play ticky-tacky then BB & Co. will certainly not let it go unnoticed.

Isn't both Polian and Dungy on the Competition Committee? I recall a few years ago Belichick complained about being able to call two time-outs in a row to the committee and they blew him off. Then they called two time-outs against Vanderjerk and iced him. All of a sudden they made it illegal to call two time-outs in a row. The might have been something I read in Patriot reign or some place. The point is, having those two guys on the Competition committee and being big members of the Colts organization seems like an influential conflict of interest. I can see having one but not both.

Good point and hopefully it happens.

I think every team in the league complains to the league office about certain types of play/penalties. Most send game film to the league. Polian is BY FAR the most publicly vocal about it. The guy loves to hear himself talk I guess. I think it would be naive to think that Polian is the only one that complains, he just does most of it for the world to hear.

I can't help myself whenever I read another thread about the Little General; I am compelled to post. "The power of Christ compells you." If there is, in fact, a Creator who wants his creations to behave as gods and angels on earth, then by the power of that Creator, the human excrement that are Napolian, Dungheap and Payaton cannot, must not, be allowed to succeed on Sunday. The message sent to the human race would be an abomination; the ramifications would be catasrophic. The very existence of the Indianapolis Colts franchise is a foul, sickening stench that rapes the nostrils of our great nation.

I believe Dungy is on the coaches sub committee which doesn't have the right to vote but there's no doubt they have influence.

I agree that Polian is most vocal but didn't it seem too much of a coincidence that when the Colts lose the play-off game to the Patriots and all of a sudden we're announcing that the league is going to enforce a rule that's already on the books? I'm sure every head-coach, GM or owner has made their calls to the league about certain rules and questionable calls.

I just don't understand why they would announce that they are going to enforce a rule that's already in the books. Sometimes they change the way the rule is interpreted and then will announce the interpretation. IE "Tuck rule" But to announce that they are going to enforce a rule better just tells me that Polian got to them.

I'm sure it's much like a coach chewing up a ref during the game. While they can't over turn the call they'd like to think that the next call will go their way. (Seen more often in baseball than football but you get the jist)
