He's probably not long enough, not heavy enough, or doesn't know the 3-4. If he is then he'll want too much money. :bricks:
Does he have sand in the pants, are his eyes active or his arms too short, maybe his forty is off as is his shuttle or cone drill? The guy has been playing in the NFL for a good number of years, either he can play or he can't, and these neverending draftnik phrases are completely irrelevant.
Nothing personal but the nonstop use of draft speak has really turned what used to be football discussions into a littany of useless draftnik phrases.
Vince Wilfork NT NE: Wilfork has the sand in the pants teams look for at NT. Good motor and good intangibles. Eyes aren't active enough and lateral agility questionable per his cone drills. Slow forty and short arms, small hands. He lets his pads rise and doesn't anticipate blocking pressure readily enough. inconsistent get off and stamina level is questionable at 360 lbs.
Blah blah, blah blah, blah blah blah blah. Much as I love the draft this is what player analysis has been reduced to, a bunch of catch phrases that are applied liberally and inaccurately, especially to pro players who have either shown they can play or not, and whose forty times and cone drills need never be rehashed again.
Has Okoye been a productive player or not? What are his strengths and weaknesses in football terms, not draft jargon? How much will he cost and how much is he likely to play here, that's what matters, not his average eyes and small hands.
The more all the draftniks try to sound like experts the dumber they sound. I love the draft and have followed it for years but unfortunately all i can find for "analysis" now is the same trite phrases being used over and over again in ways that are essentially meaningless.
Rant over, for now, or at least until someone tries to invoke Welker's 40 time to argue against paying him.
