Would you be in favor of adding Tebow to the Pats

I have no clue if BB feels as though there is a place on the Pats for Tebow but one thing is for certain ..... BB absolutely loves football players who "get it" and "are winners" and not many fit that defn better than Tebow does. As such, I don't think it's a stretch to believe that BB would be at least curious about adding such a player to his team.

We know that, Mo, we all know that.

That wasn't the point.

Denver had just come off a long stretch where they were arguably the worst team in football, with no present prospects and zero chance at a playoff spot.

The gentleman from Gainesville changed all that.

This whole hoopla demonstrated on this thread isn't really about Tebow coming to Foxboro - admit it. It's about Tebow irking a lot of people by being successful out of the box. Whether he comes to the Patriots or not is really irrelevant at this point. As we argue the pros and cons of a scenario that may, but won't likely, come to pass, there is altogether too much denigration of his past efforts and successes, and that's what disturbs me most of all.

Not necessarily you, Mo, but there are too many revisionists here who are willfully blind to what the past season produced, and seem to think that the next decade will play out exactly as season 2012 did.

In any event, we'll all get to see how this saga plays out. That, in itself, should be plenty entertaining!

What this past season produced in Denver was a mixed bag nightmare for Elway and Fox...who were likely looking at a best case scenario of Orton getting them to the playoffs or worst case scenario of winning the suck for Luck sweepstakes. Football is both a game and a business. Fans don't often truly grasp it from either perspective. The randomness that is guys like Tebow and even Sanchise drives coaches and GM's to drink because their jobs are on the line. Bill hates random. He can't predict it or control it or even mitigate it. That's why at times he prefers to field three guys who can do part of a job consistently well as opposed to one guy who projects to be able to potentially handle all of them only when you find he actually can't or simply won't.

Remember, the Wildcat changed everything...briefly.

omg NESN has a poll that is nearly 50/50 on whether the Pats should trade for Tebow.

Wtf is wrong with people? I'd rather have Mark Sanchez.

This thread still hurts my head. :violent:

Let me confess that I for one have no idea how season 2012 played out

50% of the people that took that poll actually have some knowledge of football and the other 50% are on drugs!

He does, but if they don't fit his scheme and/or represent value he passes on them or cuts ties with them. And gets it depends on your definition of it is. Loves football is one version. Can read defenses and make all the throws accurately is another. Can Tebow provide enough value anywhere on the roster to justify trading for and paying him? I don't see it.

Breer was just saying he believes the Broncos already probed the market which he believes would fall into 3 categories. Teams who feel they can win now with Tebow at QB. He believes there are no teams in that category. Teams who believe they could possibly do some unique things with him and he would not create a controversey by his existence on a roster. He believes maybe the Packers and NE would be the only teams in that category. Then the final category is teams whose owners need to make a splash and put fannies in seats. He believes the Florida teams would be the only ones in that category.

You'd rather have Sanchez and you're asking what's wrong with OTHER people? :bricks:

You hit where I was going before I got it typed. Right now Elway the Evil is thinking, "Who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?" Prospects that looked good at least to some of us seem not to be good upon further reflection (JAX, MIA). I believe he could even be traded for a 2013 7th otherwise the Donks may have to bite the cap bullet and simply cut Tebow. Cut as opposed to face saving sham trade will set the Tebow fans in Denver off one last time.

And FWIW to you Tebow fanatics who take this as a massive diss, I like Tebow and greatly enjoyed his romp to the playoffs last year very much.

Neither do I, Pissah! Good point!

But like Deus, I, too, see the Jets sucking....always sucking...

(Boy, that was a good mental boner on my part! Meant 2011, of course...)

Meddlesome priest!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! guys, please STOP the madness. Until the day someone can rationally explain what function Tim Tebow could play in this offense, there should be no Tim Tebow talk.

Where the F*CK would he play?????? Under what circumstance are you a better team with Tebow under C over Tom Brady. Is he worth a multi million dollar salary and a draft pick to play the non existent FB position the Pats "love" so much Do you take Gronk or Hernandez out so he can play TE?????? Yeah, that make sense - Well, I guess that leaves having him come in as a back up QB so you can install and practice a completely unique offense just for your back up QB. Now you're on a roll, brother. BB LOVES him his 46% completion rate passers

Make me a case that he can be a LB or SS and I'm all for it, but cut the offensive crap. Breer is FOS, the Pats would be exactly the WRONG place for Tebow. If he wants to go to an offense he'll have a chance at, let him go to Carolina and back up Newton. He's going to get hurt soon, anyway.

Easy, to bring the wrath of God down on the opponents defense and to smite them where they stand.

He's been a de facto RB for much of his career, we know he can do that, everything else is just gravy.

He would take over BJGE's spot and be the 4th RB with Ridley, Vereen, and Woodhead.
