His scouting report is an edge pass rusher. Not good at dropping into coverage. Curious.

If we're expanding our profiles of who can/can't play in our defense. Bruce Irvin is 6'3 245lb. He ran a 4.50 forty at the combine.

I think BB is planning on trading back in the draft to pick up late round picks. Fleming might not get drafted at all with 40 time like that. Who knows what evil lurks in the mind of the Croatian Warload?

Someone said that Fleming was a star on ND ST's last year. Combine that with Slater being a FA and you can see why BB is kicking the tires on him.

I think at the end of the day, BB is counting on a few UFDA's to provide excellent ST play, competition and versatility. So we should see a ton of interviewees that make us scratch our head when looking at them in the base defense, but if you look at them as core ST players, they make more sense.

Actually, Fleming would be replacing Tracy White, not Slater. Also, there is the issue of replacing Niko Koutivedes who was also very good on special teams for the Pats last year, though that could be Cox or Tarpinian already..
