Combine weigh-ins?

Hightower weighing in at 6'2" 265lbs with 32 5/8 inch arms. Would this lack of length impact peoples views of him as a possible OLB? He doesn't seem to have the ideal length for the Pats.

That's a little disappointing. He was laready moving down my Pats board a little, this just helps to confirm that. Would still take him around #48 though as an ace backup across all LB positions.

I think this probably makes him a 3-4 ILB only. 265lbs is very high for any 4-3 LBer. Although I agree, he would be too good of value to pass up at 48.

The biggest problem with Hicks is everyone knows who he is now, so he won't be a steal towards the bottom of the draft. I actually think he will be over-drafted. A similar guy I like late in the draft is Chigbo Anunoby of Morehouse. At 6'4" 324lbs, he is really raw but has a ton of upside. Probably an UDFA, but could really be a player with some coaching.

I don't really get this line of thinking. NFL teams knew who he was; that's why he got shrine game and combine invites. He isn't radically changing his game film or a team's perception of him. It's just that more guys on message boards now know about him and will mock him differently.

A wee bit heavy though. Let's see how his speed (straight line and lateral) is.

As the BCS game has been over he has slowly been dropping. That BCS title game high only lasts for so long before it starts to wear off. He's a football player though and I think his game tape is going to keep him at least a high 2nd rounder.

Not for the ROLB spot. Useless Adilus Thomas was 270lbs. Willie was close to that weight class. I believe he said that his playing weight was between 265-270lbs.

A few players I think we can put to rest the Pats drafting at OLB: Curry, McClellin, and Perry.

Based on Jared Crick's measures he's starting to look more like a 4-3 LDE than 3-4 5 technique DE. Very doubtful he will be in a Pats uniform as well. I can see a team like the Titans grabbing him in the 2nd.

Let's agree that Willie McG was a very special player and definitely not the norm and A-day-late Thomas was the trash that Ray Lewis said he would be outside of their system. Also, Willie was a full inch taller than Frank Alexander.

Frank Alexander is a really, really interesting prospect still I agree. Not sure at what pick we start to look at him, though. 3rd round? Late, late 2nd?

Is there a video of him on youtube? If not, I shall make one in 2-3 weeks after my quarter ends.

There's a couple pre-game interviews and some crappy highlight vids. If you made a snap video of him that would be really awesome. Thanks for drawing him to my attention. I'll be keeping an eye on him. He seems like a pick that has everything to gain and nothing to lose.

I've never seen him ranked higher than the 4th, mostly he's a late day three prediction. Which is strange, I've watched a few Sooner games because of Jamell Fleming. Alexander always stands out - I'm not an evaluator though so you know.
