Bring on the Ravens

First, you don't seem to understand what sarcasm is.

Second, stop with the "probably the best..." nonsense. You know it's nonsense. Ravens fans in general know it's nonsense. I'm sure even Webb and his family know it's nonsense.

Third, please name all the players who stopped Gronk one-on-one this season.

Great counter argument. It's nonsense because you say so.

Apparently, you missed the multiple JJ / Reed posts I made.

Theres ummmm and ohhhhhhhhh wait there is also uhhhhhh and ummmm, and ohhhh, durrrrrrrrrrr

No idea what that is supposed to mean.

Once again, it was sarcasm. Can you not read?

Get back to me when you get your head out of your ass if you think Welker is going to tear up a guy who is probably the best CB in the AFC not named Revis or Joseph; or if Ed Reed and Jarrett Johnson -- who is probably the best coverage LB in the NFL -- cant stop your little Gronki.

Ladarius Webb is suddenly one of the best CBs in the AFC ? Wasn't he just your return guy at the start of the year? Forced into action because of injury?

I do believe i like the guy who leads the NFL in receptions since 07 going against him.

Jarrett Johnson? Vaguely remember if this guy was even a factor in 2010.
Ed Reed is also hobbled. I'll take the best TE in the NFL for this matchup.

Who do you offer against Branch or AH who lines up everywhere.

This will be by far the best offense you have faced all year and a watered down version of it beat you in 2010.

Lemme see, the Patriots have the best QB to ever play the game and the Ravens have the worst Qb left in the tournament, i'll take the Patriots, especially given the fact that he is 6-1 against the Ravens.

Actually, I think the Webb / Welker matchup is a great one. Seriously, don't be surprised if Welker doesn't do much.

JJ / Ed Reed being outgunned by Gronk is highly debateable, but if we are able to get good pressure on Brady...of course then it would go a long way to helping keep all these guys under control.

Hernandez is actually the guy who I think will be your most effective player against us. He's the one who I'm not sure how we are going to contain unless NE keeps him back in pass pro.

AH in pass protection who are you kidding? Have you seen him move in the open field? Does Dallas Clark block? AH is a Beast!

My counter is as factual as your initial claim. Well, it's more factual, since I've at least got Pro Bowl data on my side.

If you're going to troll, don't suck at it. That shouldn't be too much to ask.

I sometimes am confused as to why people beleive Flacco is as bad as they think.
If wins are what we use to judge QBs, why does the criteria change when we talk about Flacco?

In the 6 years prior to the arrival of Joe Flacco and following the salary cap releases of most of the players from the superbowl team in 2001, the Ravens record was 50 and 46. Including the 13-3 record with Steve McNair in 2006. Through that time, the Ravens defense was top 5 every year yet, only went to the playoffs twice during that time with no wins.

Along comes Flacco in 2008. Same team that was terribly inconsistent in previous years with a much older defense yet in those four years since the Ravens record is 44-20 with 5 playoff wins, all but 1 on the road.

Nothing changed but the head coach and the QB.

44-20. Playoffs every year with a win in each season.

I can understand if people are tired of hearing his fans defend him but what must be understood is that we are tired of having to defend him. I could see if he was as inconsistent as Eli early in his career or He was praised like Ryan and fell off, but no. He has never thrown over 12 picks, always been around 3600 yards, and always has around 20 tds. Consistency.

This year, he has faced the #1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10th ranked defenses (Ravens were third) and went 10-2 in those games with an average Qb rating of 93.1 with 15 tds and 6 ints. He was also 7-0 vs playoff teams and is 26-4 at home.

While he definitley isn't elite by any stretch, he is easily top 12. He may not have the best playoff stats as Sanchez, but I would take his play during the regular season as an assurance that he would get us there.

He may not have the regular season stats of Matt Ryan but, I'll take his play outside of the comfort of his home stadium and road victories as a trade off.

In closing, there is not much to dislike Flacco about other than his followers defending him all day. I just don't think we should have to.

Another thing, where did this old defense thing come from? Oh I know. It's regurgitated by the talking heads in the media and repeated as gospel by fans. Fact is, The only Ravens starters over 30 are Ray Lewis, Corey Redding and Ed Reed. Everyone else even reserves are under 30. Half of our defense is under 25 y/o.

I have no idea who will win this game but I know this. It won't be a blow out by either team. I believe the score will be close to most of the games these 2 teams play. 30-27 27-24 type deal.

Here's to a good game Pats.

He had like 6 completions in the only game your team beat us in. Thats all

Ladarius Webb is suddenly one of the best CBs in the AFC ? Wasn't he just your return guy at the start of the year? Forced into action because of injury?

Webb's stat line on the season:

89 targets 52 completions for 615 yards. 5 INTs 11 pass deflections 0 Tds
Only guy in the league targeted at least 70 times to not give up a TD.

PFF ranked him 4th overall out of all CBs in the league.

With his coverage skills and physicality, Welker won't have it easy. And he very well could have a quiet day.

Jarrett Johnson? Vaguely remember if this guy was even a factor in 2010.
Ed Reed is also hobbled. I'll take the best TE in the NFL for this matchup.

JJ isn't a playmaker. He just quietly takes out the TE every week, and helps out in run support. He is very overlooked, because people like OLB who rack up sacks. With help from Reed over top, we should hopefully be able to stop Gronk from ripping us a new one.

Who do you offer against Branch or AH who lines up everywhere.

Branch doesn't worry me so much. I think our rookie (Jimmy Smith) will do a decent enough job against him.
But I still don't have an answer for Hernandez -- like I've said, I think he is going to be your x factor.

AH in pass protection who are you kidding? Have you seen him move in the open field? Does Dallas Clark block? AH is a Beast!

Ha, I know it is wishful thinking (leaving AH on the line to block). You should just leave Gronk back to protect Brady instead

PFF rated Kareem McKenzie as the best player in the NFL, it's obviously a good place for you to get your "facts."

My man is Webb that good? dude was picking me off in Madden 12...i was like who is that?

I'm glad I could humor you. But you know what they say about laughing last...

Well...PFF is hardly a good source to back your argument on.

I'm not gonna comment too much on Webb as i'm not very familiar with him. I saw him on AJ and i think he did a good enough job on him but c'mon...it was Yates.

No doubt, if the ravens get to the QB like they did last week Brady is going home...............................................untouched.

Scary.

The Patriots are going to spread out the Ravens and shred them the way the Chargers did. They will put up over 30 and Flacco can't match that.

All well and good, but the stat line on the season is still the same for Webb.

I do, they say the Patriots have had that last laugh 3 times since the last time the Ravens had it. This year will make it 4.

How will you be laughing last about arguing by using a lousy website? It has nothing to do with the players or the game.

Haden and Hall are both better than Webb. That makes Webb, at best, the #3 corner in his own division, never mind the conference or league.
