One of the strengths of the Denver Broncos is their place kicker who was the real reason behind Tebow Time. Prater nailed two field goals against Chicago to send it into and win in overtime in the altitude at Denver.

Matt Prater went to high school and college in Florida and is just a 78% field goal kicker.

Does anyone have any insights into how this guy does in the cold? With the game time temps below 25 degrees and dropping throughout the game, is there any chance this guy could nail a long one when the ball is essentially a block of ice?

Word is he suffers from major shrinkage ... we will see.

It'd be an interesting study to see the correlation between that and sea level.

I'll leave the research up to someone else though!

I agree. This kid is good. I don't think the cold will be his problem though. The wind will be more of a factor.

But, the new LS factor will be there as well. I don't know how David Binn does longsnapping in the cold, but it's a tough situation he's walking into..
