the game on Saturday. Will he coach from the field at all....or from the box? This is still BOB's offense to call at this point....not sure how approachable he would be to have McD working with him to call in plays.....or maybe he gives most of his impact during meetings this week after watching tape? BTW....what are the details on McD's deal in coming back as OC? Anyone hear anything?

I would assume it would be all on the prep side. Reiss or somebody even characterized it mainly as "film-watching".

If Josh does any on-the-field coaching, it will be very limited and minor. I'm guessing the box would be a much better fit for him, if he's allowed (I'm guessing there are limits on how many guys the Pats can put up there).

Josh will probably be up in the Coach's box..

I would use him to analyze our DEFENSE and work with the defensive coaches on how he would attack it, and what tendencies, issues, and problems he sees from the perspective of calling an offensive game plan against it.
I would likewise have him breaking down film of the opponents offense to detect tendencies, likes, dislikes, etc.
If you want to shore up your defense sometimes the best one to find the holes is an offensive mind, and he is coming in with no preconceived notions.

I can't see him doing anything on gameday. I would almost rather him not be on the field confusing the chemistry that the team has had all year. I think during the week he could be used by BB to pick him brain as well as maybe assist the team in drills while getting to know the new players. I dont think he'll be doing any coaching.

I see his biggest roll as another set of eyes to watch whats happening and help make suggestions for adjustments, on offense or defense.

This, plus preparation. I don't see him having much of an in-game role, except to report what he sees and maybe make a suggestion or two, but I'm sure he'll be in the background.

Wouldn't it be a hoot though if he came out on the sidelines and BOB didn't? Pysch Denver, take that! (I'm just kidding - BB would not do this with our season on the line).
