That was as ugly as it gets. It was perfect timing in a really bad way. The second Peterson plants his foot, the defender makes contact with the knee which made it impossible for his foot to come off the ground and lesson the impact.

Every time I see something like this, I am always amazed it does not happen a lot more often.

I can practically sever a digit wrap it up and go to the ER but for some reason watching these sports injuries nearly makes me puke every time. Doesn't matter who it is, just watching body parts go in directions they weren't meant to go makes me want to hurl.

Hmmmm..... In New England, there seems to be an issue of injuries to all manner of positions. That seems to be reflected around the NFL. How's Carson Palmer been since returning from his knee injury, by the way?

If you treat Welker as the exception with respect to rehab, the usual time is 12 months to come back and at that, they are rusty, it gives him a year and a half to be ready for training camp 2013. It's not like the Vikings are competing for the Super Bowl ( or anything other than the first pick in the draft) so his incentive is to get healthy, not come back too early.

He did not need to play in this meaningless game too. Playing for your fantasy fans? This is fecked up.

Peterson has been an anchor on my fantasy football team (keeper league) since his rookie year. So needless to say, I'm a big fan of his.

With that being said, there's nothing wrong with him playing in this game. (I was out of the playoffs in fantasy, so my opinion has nothing to do with fantasy football).

He was healthy going into the game. So he should play. Should ALL star players be shut down once their team is eliminated from the playoffs? Absolutely not.

He was hurt on a flukey play. It's extremely unfortunate, but it is what it is.
