Patriots Lose Andre Carter During Win Over Denver
By: Ian Logue

New England may have beaten Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos in what had been the quarterback's the holy sanctuary, but unfortunately it may have come at a steep price....

Re: Carter to IR

Which troll gave this 5 stars?

Re: Carter to IR

Big loss but every team has them, part of winning it all is overcoming big injuries. Count me among those who think a 3-4 base the rest of the way is the best bet.

Re: Carter to IR

Hope to see you back next season Andre.

Re: Carter to IR

Thanks for the fantastic season, Mr. Carter. Welcome back, Mr. 3-4 base.

Re: Carter to IR

Next Carter up?

Really interested to see how good Markell is, he has the size and obviously has the work ethic with 6 practice player of the weeks.

Bad for the team losing Andre though, he's been one of the better DE's in the league this year nevermind on the team.

Re: Carter to IR

Hopefully the Patriots step up with a good 2 year deal for him, he's still a really good player and can help them in many ways the next couple of years. as much as it sucks for him I think this makes it easier for the Patriots to get a deal done with him going forward, hopefully the don't try to lowball him but make a good fair offer that shows they want him.

Re: Carter to IR

Thank you Andre. I've been a fan from his Cal days. He was my favorite signing this summer. I was hoping for 5 sacks this season. I'm hoping he makes it back next year.

Re: Carter to IR

Thank you, Andre.

More importantly, thank you for being such a well-spoken, classy Patriot player for my son to root for.

Re: Carter to IR

Just a crushing loss.

But let's face reality. This season was always going to come down to one thing. Can this offense execute at a high level against elite competition in January?

Until we get to a SB matchup against either the Saints/Packers - what offense really scares you? Pitt? Nah. Baltimore, Houston, Jets...no.

The tests this team will face will be hardest for the offense. We're in a conference with some great defenses. If the offense can overcome, then it doesn't matter what guys we roll out there on defense.

Re: Carter to IR

Tough break, he's been a steal this year with his great all-round play on the edge.
Hopefully Anderson and who ever ends up being the guy that'll replace him in snaps can get the pressure he was getting.

Re: Carter to IR

hopefully next man up can set the edge as well

unless my eyes deceived me Carter was the best we've had doing that for a little while

Re: Carter to IR

This hurts, there were times that I wanted him to play less snaps during the season, he has a lot of miles on those legs. Anyway, cold weather time, back to 3-4.

Re: Carter to IR

Was just over in Twitterville and saw some names being tossed around on Bedard's account (by him and followers): Tully, Pierre Woods, Marques Murrell ("Liked him in camp. Good on special teams," Bedard wrote). He seemed to think the Pats didn't feel Markell Carter was ready. Good news is whoever is brought in will have two games to work into things.

I gotta believe the guys who are gonna play defense are already on the roster, with guys like Anderson, Moore, Ellis, Deaderick, Warren, and Brace all getting more situational time. The open roster spot will depend more on what will happen with Chung and Spikes, but I think is most likely going to be someone already on the PS.

Before Carter came aboard,Colvin was the last guy to really impact the edge after McGinest left

Huge loss. Lets hope he can come back healthy and as good as he´s been this year and get a new deal.
