Is this the Broncos SB?

The Broncos are going to the playoffs if they can win 2 of their last 3. They have a very good chance of going even if they only win 1 of 3. I doubt it's all about the Patriots for them.

They're just looking for wins right now.

People are comparing Tebow to Brady.

That makes my blood boil.

Yes its their big game of the year.

Yeah that is unfair.
Tebow and Brady have comparable numbers after the same amount of starts in the NFL but Brady's not even in the conversation when it comes to their college careers. Tebow was a great college player. Brady was nobody in college. This is sooooo unfair to Tebow....
It's so funny how everyone wants to judge this second year QB.
I challenge any and all Patriot fans to go back and watch the SB against the Rams. You'll be blown away by how average and JAG Tom Brady looked back then and how different and better a player he is now. A world of difference.
Don't know why the haters think Tebow has no ability to grow and develop as a QB.

I don't think it's that people think he can't or won't improve, I think a lot of it is from all the stories about how Tebow spent all of last offseason before the draft, TC, all season, this offseason, this season, etc. improving his mechanics, and they don't appear to have changed for the better.

He still has a god awfully slow release, that awkward wind-up, his accuracy is terrible for 75% of each game, etc.

He's a winner. I don't know how, but he pulls these things out of his ass. Tom Brady was a pocket-passer who has consistently shown improvements to his fundamentals and mechanics, Tebow's haven't changed one bit.

But, like I said, he's a winner, and that is the only thing that matters in this league, no matter how unconventional it is.

So, it's not that we don't think he CAN improve, but for all the fuss about how much he's been working on improving, he really hasn't shown much for it (speaking strictly mechanically, nothing about his success).

People aren't comparing Tebow now to Brady back then. They are trying to draw a comparison between possibly the GOAT QB, Tom F. Brady and this new guy, flavor of the month, Tim Tebow.

Now I'm as much of a Tebow fan as a NE Patriots fan could hope to be, however, this comparison seems pretty far fetched to me. That car needs the tires kicked a bit more before we compare it to a Porsche, let alone a Ferrari F150, if you catch my meaning.

Beating the Pats would be a big deal for these Broncos, clearly, as it is for any team that is trying to show it can play with the big boys, but I don't think it's "their SB."

This is a team that thinks it can make the playoffs, against all odds and expectations, with their media sensation Number Two QB, who wasn't supposed to be ready for two or three seasons. Therefore, I think they see this as one of three remaining games that they have to win to achieve that goal, which is different than seeing it as the most important game of their season. I think they would regard the game in which they clinch a playoff berth as their most important game.

This is a huge game for both teams! I would love to see the Patriots get a road victory against a potential playoff team that is really rolling right now.

Agreed 100%.

Yes its their big game of the year.

It's okay to compare, as long as their comparison shows that there is NO comparison.

They both won pretty consistently during their first season amidst much doubt from the NFL media. That should not be surprising though, we ALL have doubts about whether a QB is for real or not in his first real showing.

This IS a big game for them, even if it is not make or break for the playoffs.

The Patriots are the standard NFL juggernaut. A win against them goes further than a win against the Bears. A win this weekend would validate the Tebow experience.

Yes its their big game of the year.

What's wrong with comparing a young player like Tebow, who has shown success in his first few games as a starter, with an established star like Brady? The guy is 7--1 in his first eight NFL starts. That's pretty remarkable. Brady was 5--3 in his first eight starts (but, he did "finish strong" that year ). If he were facing a healthy Peyton Manning (who was 1--7 in his first eight starts), they'd be doing the same thing.

Of course people are going to compare them before they first meet. How is that supposed to make our "blood boil?"

I'm sure that you and I agree that there is, at this time, no "real" comparison between Brady and Tebow, but what's wrong with comparing where they were after their first few games? Give the guy credit. He's done remarkably well for a new player.

You made my point for me without knowing it. Thank you.
Comparing a 2nd yr QB with HOF Tom Brady is blatantly unfair to the second yr QB Tim Tebow even though Tebow has numbers comparable to Brady at the same point in their NFL careers and Tebow blows Tom away in college achievement. Ouch!!

PS - my point is not to knock Tom Brady. Tom is a first ballot HOF'er. My point has always been to point out just how rabid and unfair the criticism of a player in only his second year in the NFL has been. Tim Tebow was written off (90% based on politics) by the so called "experts" long before he was ever given a fair chance to show what he can do. THAT is why so many people are rooting for him.

Tim Tebow, Tom Brady - take your pick - ESPN

Are you serious? Who would you pick? Is this real life right now?

cool article . . . thxs for posting . . .

i would take Brady . . . but I for one do not mind the comparisons . . . that is what people like to do . . .

do you guys remember how "good" the 199th overal pick Tom Brady was after his first 8 starts back in 2001 with our great D . . . I like Brady back then and glad that BB stuck with him, but many would not say he was a first ballot HOFer after 9 starts . . .

so with that said lets not go too hard on Tebow . . . the guys plays different and runs more than passes and if moves the offense either by air or ground, what is the difference . . .

he is 7-1 as a starter, doesn't turn the ball over, is a 2 time NCAA champion, and if he develops a good arm and if the team gets some good support around him, he may continue . . .

oh and btw, if the pats don't win the SB, i want denver to win . . .

how exactly did Tom Brady improve from his first start and his 12th start . . . to compare TB improvement over 4 to 8 years is not comparable to a player over 8 games . .. just saying

You work on your mechanics 24/7. Tebow has supposedly been doing this for nearly 2 years, not 12 games.

I also like how you used years for Brady and games for Tebow.

Tebow is capable of practicing outside of Sundays.

This is a playoff game for the Broncos. Coaches, media and players are treating the as a BIG game. Brady is one of the best and the be the best you must beat the best.

No not the SB but a playoff game. I can only hope the Pats can match their intensity for 4 quarters.
