Trying to understand the 'Garbage Time' phenomenon

The defense was allowing 10+ minutes drives to Indy's pathetic offense. Indy kept shooting themselves in the foot, they get to the two yard line and get a penalty and wind up with 3 points. They were moving the ball at will.
How is that plural? They had 1 effective drive before 31-3

I agree in principle, but the Colts *did* score multiple times on bombs in the fourth quarter, because the corners were getting flat-out beaten down the field. It wasn't a matter of situational football, it was a matter of terrible execution. But once again, terrible execution isn't surprising when you're playing bottom of the roster and out of position players. It was garbage time.
There were a couple of deeper throws, but most of what they did was underneath against a prevent-style defense.

there was no 'Garbage Time' Brady was in there late in the 4th QT trying to comp pass, as for the defense they did not want the colts to score but they let the CB's play one on one to see if they could stop pro bowl WR's in man coverage and they failed if they stayed in zone they could have held them to one less TD

When you say Indy "kept" shooting themselves in the foot after 10 minute drives, how many times are you referring to? Because I count one, prior to garbage time.

Was it still garbage time when Indy was an onside kick recovery away from making everyone on here **** their pants?

When exactly does garbage time begin? Does being up 21 points in the fourth quarter with 8:17 left in the game count as garbage time? If so the Giants lost to the Eagles last year in "garbage time".
