We now have Edelman as a defensive.

Seriously, when Chung comes back, there will be little future need for Ventrone. I don't think that Ventrone plays special teams better than Sergio Brown. If that were so, Ventrone would be be on the 53 man squad.

Special teams say hi.

Sure, Ventrone could come back if there were a ST injury. Right now we have Slater, White, Niko, and Brown who are more useful than Ventrone on special teams.

Edelman's in at corner. Ventrone's been in at safety.

I think he is trying to say that Edelman can play safety better than ventrone. A QB is a better safety than any DB in the world if he has the physicality.

Not sure we ever had a need for Ventrone, other than to help keep the person handling press releases regarding transactions busy.

To say that there is no need for Ventrone once Chung returns when the Pats have only Ihedigbo (playing hurt), Moore (rookie) and Brown (shouldn't see the field on regular plays), is a huge over-statement. Also, the reason that Ventrone is on the PS and Brown isn't is because Ventrone still has eligibility. They are about even in terms of special teams play.

Edelman has lined up at both corner and safety.. Heck, he seemed to be lining up at LB a few times as well.. I think it's safe to say he's been in on coverages in the the ZONE coverage..

There is always a need for ventrone. BB loves te guy and you know he is in on the roster move every week.

And on at not what is te status of him right now

Released

ON PS

ON 53

everyone needs to know

That is true. One worry though may be that when Edelman is in the game, the opposing offense knows exactly which zone the Pats are playing.

I like that the Pats added a zone read to the Edleman package that allowed Edelamn to rush the QB.

Maybe Edelman could get a pick if the Pats can get him comfortable in another zone scheme. Especially if the opposing QB sees Edelamn and thinks it is the soft vanilla zone that they are currently using Edelman in exclusively, but in reality if Edelman can get comfortable in the cover 3 scheme, that we have not used much this season, maybe Edelman can make a play out of that coverage.

Its amazing that Ventrone does not appear to be pissed getting tossed around like a bean bag.

You know what WOULD really finally piss Ventrone off??

Have him on the roster in the Super Bowl, then at halftime with the Patriots ahead of the Packers by 24,Belichick sends Ventrone into a private room and tells him he is being cut immediately before the third quarter starts.

Then the team goes on to win the Championship and Ventrone doesn't get a ring

If Ihedigbo keeps missing time with these arm stingers, they might need Ventrone.

You are seriously off of Ventrone's Xmas card list.

What I worry about for Ventrone is that soon he may not be eligible for PS anymore and when he gets cut, it will be for a weeks or maybe never again. They better make sure he is financially sound.

Yeah, what is up with that? He acts like he has been shot and then just pops right up.

Blasphemy!

Chris

Thank you, saved a post.

People need to look up the definition of "need".

Cash those checks.

Yep, that basically describes a stinger. Seems like a much worse injury, until you realize that it's not.
