I hadn't bothered with this show all season but by chance I saw a teaser for the Pats/Boys coming up later in the show. Well, it's almost the whole second half hour of the show and it was done very well. Lot's of sideline stuff, crisp highlights, interview clips, and very little talking head stuff. Its along the lines of an NFL films production but has a slightly different feel. I thought it was great except the volume of the speaker on some of their sideline clips was too low against the crowd noise and I felt like Little John from the Chappelle Show shouting, WHAT? I replayed the Dez Bryant sideline rant several times and still have no idea what he saying. They catch BB getting kind of fired up.

It's on again Friday at 11pm and Sat. at midnight.

Thanks for the heads up.

I did not catch this one but it looks decent enough production. From i remember there used to be a HBO show or Starz that got cancelled last year. Versus hired the entire team to do this production.

Yes! Fantastic! Seeing Brady warm up on the sideline behind Belichick juxtaposed with the Cowboys coming out and needing one 1st down to ice the clock with the Pats down three was great. Knowing the Cowboys were about to move backwards brought a smile to my face. (I was pacing in my living room with a horrible sense of dread when that "drive" began on Sunday.)

The camera angles on the Pats last drive from the end zone and from behind the bench are great, especially Woodhead's little catch and run for a first down from the end zone and Brady getting nailed as he hit Gronk for the 1st down on the near sideline. I did not realize that Brady came so close to being sacked or having the pass disrupted. His quote inserted then was perfect.

Very well done.

Can anyone put part of this up on youtube after it airs? Sounds like a good watch.

The thing that always interests me about these shows is comparing the Pats coaches talking to players vs. opposing coaches. You see Belichick discussing how the Cowboys can't handle Hernandez in single coverage in the middle and then see Ryan telling Ware to "hit him again! hit him again!" in the same voice I use to play fetch with my dog.

I have found myself watching more and more of Versus for late evening football news the last couple of weeks. I can't stomach SportsCenter, and NFL Live usually seems like the equivalent of eating a bag of chips ... a lot of empty calories leaving you just as hungry as you were before. NFL Network is often nothing more than espnLite, so even though the Versus/NBC Sports show is far from perfect, it's a welcome alternative.

Just to add. It's at 10pm on Versus (603 on directv philadelphia) and again 2 hours later, Sat midnight.

One thing which is evident is poor blocking upfront wasnt always because of scheme or blitz but pure 1-1 battles lost by mankins etc. Same with the browns game and same with the jets playoff game.

Don't know how long it will be up. But here is a youtube link to the Versus Pats Cowboys turning point..

Part 1 - tp1 oct21 - YouTube

Part 2 - tp2 oct21 - YouTube

Enjoy..

AWESOME first post, JDot!

At 4:24-6:15 of the 2nd video, when the "old school" NFL Films musical piece is on - - - that is goosebump city right there.

Does anyone know the name of that particular piece of music?

Thanks man, been lurking here since 2006.

I have to agree with you the music at the 4:24 mark gave me goose bumps too. I am trying to find it. It had that old western movie feel...

Random question: whose back is that to the camera when BB is addressing the team?

Nice production. Very much like NFL Films..

Thank You JDot
