After Brady throws a pick, are you upset with his lack of effort to tackle?

Someone please explain it to me. I just don't get it. When a guy with a known pedigree for defense has had several seasons to build this defense while each year ticks away on the Brady clock and this is what we get. Why does the defense continually suck. At first, it was because they were old, then they were too young and rebuilding. I believe the Pats should be at the point where the defense is actually suppose to be good, if at least average. Why then do they seem to have gotten worse from even last year? I'm trying to find the silver-lining. I'm not worried about Brady or the offense one bit, but I'm beginning to think that McCourty is way overrated and even Mayo a little bit. Can someone please talk me away from the cliff?

He's busy collecting draft pick trophies who lay a suck egg...Chad Jackson, Darius Butler, McCourty, Brace

you see no LB ever coming from colleage can understand BB playbook of how to rush. keep putting hope on retread hasbeens like OchoStinko and Fat albert

This is a 9-7, 10-6 team this year. Bank on it.

Re: 4 picks

Career high 4 interceptions for Brady, and this wasn't even a playoff game.

Re: Official Pats-Bills postgame show/thread

This game just makes the cutting of Sanders and Meriweather seem bizarre. I know there are issues with both of them, but you can't tell me the secondary would not have performed better with Sanders and Meriweather out there instead of Brown and Barrett.

Yeah. Brown was awful today.

Bill O'Brien Lost this Game

Thats who i blame, the pats should have easily won this game up by 14 points.(Well BOB and no pass rush) The Pats seemed to fear Fitzpatrick and the Buffalo offense, from what i have learned if your afraid of the others teams offense you mostly keep it on the ground to keep the other teams offense off the field. But what does BOB do he throws the ball, he throws the ball so much the Pats became one dimensional and the Bills knew what was coming and the rest is history. It wasn't Bradys fault, he was asked to do to much. BOB has had ONE, ONE good run in his three year career Nov. adn Dec. of last year. Then he returned to form in the playoffs and folded like a Cheap Suit in the playoffs, he Has to go.

Re: After Brady throws a Pick...

Are you freaking' serious? JC, people are officially insane on this board. Of all the shyt that happened today, this warrants a thread? Here's an idea for you: lets go with Hoyer next week and tell him when he throws his 5 INTs in Oakland that he'd better run his ***** off and catch those rotten Raiders who had the audacity to catch his errant passes. This effing place is like the land where the grass (and I don't mean the good stuff) eats the cows.

Re: 4 picks

next person to b*tch about officials should get banned. This team and the fanbase are looking/sounding more and more like a certain group of inbreds from Indy.

Read the thread, not *****ing about the refs

Re: Defense? What defense!!!

The game was tied 31-31 with the bills having the ball at their 20. They didn't even break a sweat marching down the field to score. Defense sucks. If they don't get turnovers, they can't stop anybody.
Yup. This is now the second consecutive season like this. They won 14 games last year because Brady almost never turned the ball over in the regular season, and they forced a ton of turnovers. The defense is so bad that if it isn't forcing those turnovers, 30 points from the offense is not going to be enough. I still have no concerns about them winning the division because Brady will not play like this every week, but they are screwed in the playoffs if the offense has to go for 450 yards, 35 points, and no turnovers against the best defenses in the league. It. Won't. Happen.

Re: Official Pats-Bills postgame show/thread

Horrible play by everyone save Welker, Arrington, and Gronk

The O-line played a great game, for the most part. The only real gaff was on almost sack by Merriman.

You said they tried to stop them. The timeout didnt matter, they kicked the FG on 3rd down

no, i'm saying if mccourty didn't try to play hero and tackled the guy at the 1, it would be a bills td with 2 minutes for us to work with. Because it was changed from a td to 1rst and goal at the 1, the bills were able to take some knees and knock out some time.

I mean, did mccourty really think his crappy defense was going to put up a goal line stand at the end when it was sh.it all day long. SHOULDA LET HIM SCORE!

Re: Defense? What defense!!!

The problem is that we're in an 'aggressive' 4-3 that lives and dies on its ability to be disruptive.

But when Haynesworth is out and the passrushers aren't getting to the passer, this defense is not going to get anything done. Seems to me the defense should refrain from 1 v 1 coverage until Dowling blossoms, McCourty gets back to where he should be, and the passrush appears.

If that happens, I guess.

Not a good game by the Pats today, but they lost to a good Buffalo team. The upside of that is the Jets have 2 tough division games to play they didn't know about a month ago.

My Thoughts on the game:

1. McCourty had no safety help at all. The Safeties were never in the right position to make a play.

2. We need better safeties. I wont be surprised to see a safety or 2 cut.

3. Defense was awful altogether. No Pass Rush, No sacks, no nothing.

4. The Bills threw at will because our secondary doesnt know how to cover. They also ran at will. Just bad defense all around.

5. Our offense is predictable. We need a balance attack. Ground and pound!!

6. Brady was forcing throws which is why he had 4 ints. I know after this game. It wont happen again!!

7. Ocho needs to step it up. Right now its looking like he's a waste of a pick, but its only week 3.

8. Patriots NEED TO STOP WITH THIS BEND DONT BREAK DEFENSE BULLSHlT!! OUR DEFENSE IS BROKEN!!

What will happen from now:

1. BB is going to lay into Brady, the Patriots, and the coaches
2. This loss will light a fire under their ass!!
3. There will be moves made and some players cut!

Defense is dead in the NFL. Parity is alive. That's all there is to it. Our defense gave up less points than Buffalo's did. Our offense scored more than theirs did. We lost.

Why should Brady risk injury and try to make the tackle inside their own 5? The Bills would have just made it anyway.

This game just makes the cutting of Sanders and Meriweather seem bizarre. I know there are issues with both of them, but you can't tell me the secondary would not have performed better with Sanders and Meriweather out there instead of Brown and Barrett.

With all the injuries piling up back there, Merriweather and Sanders would have been helpful.

In BB we trust....Excuse my while I puke watching 3 straight QB's, of which 2 of them Hall of Fame Caliber, Chad Henne and Ryan Fitzpatrik hand 400+ and 350+ on this vaunted Defense under the "genius".

I really wish the mods would stop screwing threads up by merging them. How about you just lock the others..

My big concern is McCourty. Wow! Can we get Butler back please? Even he wasn't this bad.

As I've said before, if you look back over the years, Brady tends to have one horrendous game a year. And, FWIW, this is the SIXTH time in his career he's had four INTs in a regular-season game.

Re: After Brady throws a Pick...

Is anyone else disturbed at Brady's lack of effort to make a tackle? I only seen one angle on the pick 6, but it looked like he had no interest in attempting to make a tackle.

I'd rather him make no effort, than make an effort and break a collarbone or arm trying to tackle a guy who was going to score anyway. There was no play to be made by brady.
