If you could ask Bill one of these questions...

If you could ask Bill one of the following questions with a guarantee that he would answer it honestly, which would it be?

I'm assuming a poll is on the way?

It wouldnt let me add the poll... so we will just have to discuss. lol

Re: If you could ask Bill one of these questions...

My question: Just how dumb and annoying is the Boston media?

Re: If you could ask Bill one of these questions...

I'm pretty sure we already know the honest answer to all of those. Just some people don't like them...

Re: If you could ask Bill one of these questions...

Q: Coach Belichick, if you could shoot any reporter, who would you choose?

Re: If you could ask Bill one of these questions...

Here I'll answer these for you.

  • [*]Why did you opt not to try the FG in SB42?
Answer: We were trying to put our team into the best position to win that game.
[*]Do you regret passing up the chance to draft Clay Matthews?
Answer: Clay is a great player but it is what it is, you make the best decisions you can with the information you have at the time. There are hundreds of players in this league that you wish you could have on your team.
[*]What in your opinion was your best single game coaching job as a Patriot?
Answer: I don't know, you have some good ones and you have some bad ones you just try to put your team in the best position to win the game.[*]How long do you plan on coaching?
Answer: I'm just trying to focus on this year and put our team in the best position to win their next game.
[*]Which player was the hardest for you to part ways with on a personal level?
Answer: Adalius Thomas, I hated that prick.

Re: If you could ask Bill one of these questions...

Hey, what happened to the first question?

Out of those listed, I would ask him about bypassing the FG attempt.
Because if he had already decided to go for it on 4th down before 3rd down was finished,
why didn't he call a draw play? He could've caught the highly agressive Jints by surprise,
and been a lot closer to the 1st down than 4th and feckin 13.

OK. The topic is which of the four would I ask BB if I could.

Let's go bottom to top.

No way he'd answer any one straight, but here's how I see it.

Five (part with personal). Purely personal. I'm curious, but the answer wouldn't change anything for me.
Four (how long coaching). No way he'd tell us before he tells the Krafts. So, purely hypothetical and, again, personal to him.
Three (Best single game). We all know it's the game plan that's in the HOF, SB XXXVI, so we might get another personal opinion where he might cite some game we've all forgotten, but what difference would it make?
Two (Matthews). Come on. We know he'll never show what he's feeling on what "might have been" with a possible draft choice.

Drum roll...

One (passing on the FG). Even though I doubt he'd answer it straight up, it's the one I'd ask. Fourth and way long. In a dome. In Adam's range and presumably Gostkowski's. No doubt, the one, I'd like to see if he'd answer straight because it's the one question that could have impacted the way a lot of things turned out and the one question that matters to anyone but him.

I was just going to do the same thing and our answers would be the same except for number 5, good one :eat1:

Re: If you could ask Bill one of these questions...

A better way to ask the question would be, if we could inject BB with sodium pentathol and ask him 5 questions, what would they be.

Added a poll for you.

Re: If you could ask Bill one of these questions...

Rex Ryan, the Big Tuna, and Mangini on a sinking ship with a life raft that can only save two of them. Who goes down with the ship?

So how much longer will he coach?

As long as he's still enjoying it, and he still really is by his own admission... He doesn't know the answer to the question. I doubt he's given it a ton of thought. It's kind of like with players, once they start talking about retiring they already have one foot out the door...

That one's easy... He and Tuna are friends now and he actually gets a kick out of Tubby...

Two of them, you'd be lucky to fins a life raft that would support one of them

I was just trying to hold the fort til you showed up

I think the FG question is easy.

1. Young kicker who may have been impressionable to the hype and lights of the SB. Why mess with his confidence by throwing him in there where the pecentages to miss probably outweighed the percentages to make it? BB likely felt as though a miss by a young kicker may have thrown him off for the rest of the game..

2. It was not at a crucial point in the game IIRC. Had it been later, the decision may have been different. It would have been at least considered more. At that early of a juncture, it probably wasn't the best choice to try the attempt. It's just a coincidence that leads us to ask the question about the FG now, since the score was 17-14. A much more relevant question may be to ask the coach about some of the defensive calling/scheming on the Giants' final drive.

3. He may have known something that we don't know, such as (gasp) it may have been out of Gostkowski's range. It was obviously right on the cusp in a best case scenario.

And finally, and most importantly...

4. Ernie told him not to kick it!!
