If Moses retires, these may be one-year options.

Since I want to be inclusive here (as patchick pointed out, there are certain responses that our lady friends clearly would not have ), I'll just call it "a tingly feeling down there."

[I toyed with making this a public poll, but decided not to. ]

After reading about the training camp practices were the offence weren't particularly sharp, it was a nice relief to see them execute with such decisive movement.

It will probably ruin my Fantasy Football season becuase of it as well...

Indeed. This is all about the defense. We know the offense can outgun anybody but if the new look D can actually put consistent pressure on QB's and get off the field every now and then i have a feeling this year we have a SB run.

Its pre-season. I am doing my best to temper expectation.

but they looked good.

True but those were other teams starters that were looking silly...not just scrubs.

Donald Penn is considered a pretty good tackle(pro bowler also) and Carter just punked him. Preseason or not that means something.

I hear what you're saying.

Show me again. One dominant game is a good sign but I can't forget the blow out win over they had over Jets that was followed up by....you know.

The preseason is not a great way to judge how good a team is going to be, but it can teach you some things about a team. Considering how short TC was, and how young the Pats are, it is pretty amazing how prepared the team is. The whole team is focused, works really hard and is already on the same page. It was also encouraging see the speed and motor demonstrated by most of the defense. I love this team.

No. I'll be tingly about it when they're up 28-0 in the first half mid season.

It's still a preseason game. It is a great sign of things to come, but it certainly doesn't guarantee regular season success.

I didn't get any tingles but did pitch a semi on the Mayo, Anderson,Ninkovich jailbreak sack.

It was good to see this D getting pressure, at least in pre-season. That's the stated objective, and it's good to see a "so far, so good" trajectory. After all, we could have seen a bunch of 4-3 fronts with nothing to show for it. Great to see J-Rod hinting at dominance, but like everyone says, we'll see in a month or so... or, we'll start seeing in a month or so, anyway.

After feeling "tingly" about the '07 season and seeing how that turned out, I'm gonna stick with feeling optimistic after last night's one half of pre-season football against an overachieving team that got lucky last year. As constituted, this team is loaded for bear and the one part of it that got me excited was watching the defensive front destroy TB's O-line. With that said, I'll stay cautiously optimistic as we all know how long and tough an NFL season is and know that injuries can change things in a hurry.

I almost got "tingly" at the end of the first quarter when it was 21-0 and I thought - "Wow. The Patriots are gonna win 84-0 if this keeps up." Then I heard Don Criqui compare Ryan Mallett to Chicago Bears' QB Bobby Douglas and I started to feel depressed. Is Don Criqui one of those frozen cryogenic guys, or what? Bobby Douglas?!? How about Frederick Douglass? Brandon Merriweather kind of looks like Frederick Douglass, doesn't he? Both had a way with words.

I don't take anything out of it really. Tampa Bay is brutally bad still. I remember that game in Europe, that was a thumping like the Cards snow game and the Titans drubbing... and I don't think they're improved all that much over that yet.

I felt pretty tingly, but I'm pretty sure that was from the beer.

I am excited that football is starting on time. I think the Pats should be extremely motivated this season and have the pieces to raise that Lombardi Trophy. It could be Pats vs. Eagles in the Superbowl again. Round 2, but it should be the same result.

one great preseason performance, as many have observed, against a team that didn't seem prepared isn't that big a deal, but it sure does go in the "plus" column.

BTW, am i the only one who noticed that Tampa's QB's seemed to be able to run pretty openly if they weren't sacked or didn't throw rushed passes and managed to break containment? is that a cause for concern or something the pats will fix in practice before they face guys like Vick and Big Ben?
