Jets consider Randy Moss | ProFootballTalk

Boy, I hope they sign him. If Brady can get sucked in to throwing to Moss where he won't fight for a ball, imagine what a guy like Sanchez who doesn't have the most accurate arm or decision making abilities will do. I think Moss is done because he can't out physical defenders. I think that would be the best signing from the Pats' standpoint for the Jets.

I don't want this to come to pass. Is Moss toast? Perhaps. But if he's not, we've seen what he can do when he wants to do it.

God damn, is the Jets forum or Patriots forum?

x2 everyone is in panic mode. This happens every FA when the Pats sit back which has been every year but 07

You hate to see Moss go to NY..because we all know what he is capable of when he give 100%

No, we saw what he could do when he wanted to do it 4 years ago. Since then we've seen what he tends to do when the going gets tough or things simply don't go his way. On and off the field.

In other news, the Jets are reported to be VERY INTERESTED in Peyton Manning, Michael Lombardi reports that the Jets are 'VERY VERY VERY VERY SERIOUS' and pending a contract restructure from Sanchez would allow the Jets to offer Manning a very nice fruit basket and a lifetime supply of Dr. Scholl's foot products from Ryan's personal stash in exchange for his services.

Lmao-I was thinking exactly the same thing. My other thought was how much longer it will be until the forum starts going into panic mode Over the lack of signings in contrast to the rest of the league.

But some of us know he isn't capable of giving 100% consistently anymore, if he ever truly did.

One of the AP writers tweeted that it's comical to see pats fans behavior at times like this. Because they fail to appreciate that we don't have to panic because we have won so much so consistently. Ditto Steelers and Colts. Woody and his fan base are scrambling because they haven't. That's nothing to be jealous about or get nervous about.

Sorry, this just in: The Pats are considering pursuing.... Damn if I know since the Patriots don't let anyone know who they are pursuing. Should we start thread every hour stating that the Patriots are not being reported to be pursuing anyone in free agency?

The Jets are making news. They are the Pats biggest rival right now. There is no real Patriots news so far today. I don't get the beef. If we were taking up board space from Pats news, I can see the beef. So far the biggest Pats news today have been Logan Mankins reporting and the conditioning run where we don't even know if anyone failed yet.

************. Is EVERYTHING the Jets do in FA going to be "Good" for the Pats?

ROTOWORLD: "This just in... The Jets acquire Clay Matthews, D'marcus Ware, and Adrian Peterson via trade."

PATSFANSFORUM:

"HAHAHAHA! Only a matter of time before Matthews gets busted for ROIDS!!"

"HAHAHAHAH! Ware is a 4-3 GUY!!! He's gonna suck ass in the 34!"

"HAHAHAHAHA! AD is a fumble machine!!! Chung is gonna take his lunch money!! YEAHHHHH!!!"

"Give us the Lombardi now!!! WOOO!"

the jets could have Randy Moss and Nnamdi Asomugha at the end of the day and they alredy signed Holmes... i like it now the pats will have to bring there A game every week to win the East so that means no let up come playoff time

Jets are our division rival. What they do affects us. You will find a bunch of threads about the Patriots on Jets forums. Threads about the Giants on Cowboys forums. Threads about the Steelers on Raven's boards etc.

Since I started this thread, I will respond. I commended the Jets for resigning Holmes and thought it was a good move eventhough the Jets overpaid. Randy Moss is a different story. If he failed miserably last year with Brady, how is he going to do better with Sanchez?

He had a similar decline in Oakland before we acquired him. I think he had already lost a step even in 2007, so physically, he's the same guy who put up 23 touchdowns.

Mentally, not so much. But, as I said, his turnaround from Oak->NE doesn't rule out that he could turn it around again.

Some significant differences between 2007 and today:

1.) Moss was 29 in 2007, he is 34 today
2.) In 2007, Moss went from Andrew Walter to Tom Brady. This year he is going from Tom Brady to Mark Sanchez
3.) In 2007, Moss was leaving a team that lacked direction, everyone quit, and Moss was not motivated to try because no one else did and the coaching staff didn't seem to care. Last year, he started in a system where everyone was focused and motivated and Moss was in a contract year with incentive to show off his wares.
4.) In 2007, Moss was in a contract year with a chance to cash in with a big contract in 2008. This year even if he only gets an one year deal, the best he can hope for next year is another one year deal, maybe two.

I think those are four very big reasons why comparing this year to 2007 for Moss is not relevant.

There are 30 other teams in the league, about half of them have sh!t Front Offices who will overpay for a big name. If he goes to the Jets it is simply out of spite, and he is dead to me.

If there was any year for Randy Moss to prove his worth it was last year. I love Randy but his legs are gone.
