Mankins could hold up NFL settlement

LOL.......a punter

Not a punter, but a fellow member of the NFLPA* but who cares? Right? Its screw the little guy as long as I get my 10 Million....

Oh wait but during the entire lockout, we heard that it wasn't about millionaires vs billionaires and that Brady, Manning, Brees, Mankins, Jackson etc... lawsuit and subsequent negotiations, were about the little guys, the guys that only play 4 years and make league minimum, you know Special Teamers and such. It was about improving their quality of life during and after football. What a crock of ****!

And it is not surprising that you would make this type of a comment.

I don't think the Patriots have handled the Mankins negotiations well but in terms of tagging him they simply did what any team in that position would have done, and there is nothing wrong with that. At the same time i see nothing wrong with Mankins using the leverage available to him to sit until after mid season.

No that is exactly my point. Neither side did anything untoward in this negotiation, though I think Mankins made a 2 extraordinary bad moves in not coming back with a counter after the last offer, and the public personal accusations made by his agent toward Bob Kraft

Mankins is the best guard in football and hopefully they recognize this and make him the highest paid. Letting an HOF quality lineman walk in a salary dispute is foolish and the Patriots should be resourceful enough to find a way to get a deal done.

Clearly his one of the best in the league, though I am sure cases can be made for four or five others in the league

Bullcrap, the reports are about what is being asked for right now and as of a couple of hours ago Schefter specifically said Jackson had made demands but Mankins had made none. Are you going to take shots at Brady as well saying he is holding up a deal because the lawsuit has his name on it? Is it possible, yes, is it a fact, no. If he makes some then b.tch about it then.

The only bullcrap is what you have continued to spew this entire process. It was made clear bother earlier and since then that Mankins was planning on making demands and that he wasn't happy..

As for Brady, you really should read the thread better because I made my statements clear enough yesterday.

or just another guy who wants to start getting paid again

Perhaps reading what I've posted, striving for comprehension, and putting down the homer goggles would be a good start for you on this.

So sayeth the man that has been tongue-washing the players since the owners announced that they were opting out of the deal.

but the crap that you spew is not crap.......or is it???

yep, it is

God forbid that Mankins play for the RFA salary (3.29 million) AND his signing bonus.. OH the horror of it all.. He'd be so underpaid..

Kinda like Brady had to do in 2002 where his "salary" was from his previous contract but his signing bonus was quite large.. Kinda like Seymour did from his first to his second contract..

nice you can talk for other people and their money......

I'm saying that the top guard is getting paid more than the top center. Pretty basic stuff, and I'm tired of dealing with your nonsense.

You're a homer, Ken. I get that. However, in this thread, you're posting some of the stupidest stuff I've ever seen you post, and I'm not going to be arguing with people who are clowning themselves anymore. It's just not worth my time. You can't even be bothered to read what I've posted, yet your making asinine responses to imagined comments.

Have a nice day, Ken. We're done here.

Nice insulting way to end an discussion without EVER addressing any of the points I made. AJ has always contended that you were a fraud, I always hesitated to agree with him....until now.

Walk away. I think your refusal to respond in any substantive manner just proves my point

You did nothing to correct my post. All you did was add your two cents.. Which robbed everyone of valuable time..

you've been robbing people of time for a hell of alot longer, but who's counting.

have you figure out what a 'hold out' means yet?

The numbers from other reporters, not gotten from the Mankins camp, backed the Reiss account in terms of reconciling the two positions.

Reporters claimed X dollars

Bauer claimed Y dollars

Reiss noted that the RFA year was the difference, making the X dollars and Y dollars match up.

You can act as if that's just coincidence all you want.

The numbers from other reporters??? You mean the ones who also got their numbers from the Mankins camp???

beats living in the owners underwear.......

Apparently you also need to read up on law.

Apparently you actually need to give an example. Something you've failed to do.. But that's not surprising..

maybe because you sort of do sound like a homer........

Exactly, step away from the Patriots KoolAid and do us a favor.

Mankins is an Offensive Guard, a freaking Offensive Guard. OG's, more so than any other position on either side of the football are the easiest to replace. This guy has no business holding the team hostage or anyone else for that matter.

Vincent Jackson is one thing, but Logan Mankins? See ya Logan, you're definately not worth the trouble or the effort, people are tired of your act, hit the effin road.................You'll be replaced at 1/10 of the cost. Get the eff out of here !!!!!

Look in the mirror Logan and say this 10 times:

"I am only an offensive guard, my impact, because I am on OG is peanuts when compared to the other much more important positions on both sides of the football. VJ has a case, but I really don't given the position I play, I should get realistic with my demands"

You mean that the example from the last time the NFL and the players went through this isn't good enough for you? :bricks: In that case, a Google search can get you some examples.

I must have missed where there has been a verdict in favor of the plaintiffs in this case after four years of proceedings and a jury trial...like the last time...

yeah.........just put connolly in there......

no, wait

Funny, Ron Borges and Mike Florio going back and forth. I hope Borges snaps.

ProFootballTalk ProFootballTalk

@RonBorges . . . They should have filed their own lawsuits. It all changes once they sign on for a class action on behalf of all players.

RonBorges Ron Borges

@ProFootballTalk U sound like U need more practice if you really believe they shouldn't seek settlement that aids their situation.

ProFootballTalk ProFootballTalk

@RonBorges . . . Practiced law 18 years. I think I have an inkling.

RonBorges Ron Borges

@ProFootballTalk i do. get back to me when you know what it means to ask someone to settle a lawsuit. they don't do it for free

ProFootballTalk ProFootballTalk

@RonBorges . . . Get back to me once you understand the concept of a "class action."

nothing matters.....except your 'facts'.

mankins is within his documented rights to call kraft whatever he wants......and it is your opinion that the krafts did try and take care of him

I understand that you are blindly behind the pats front office.....that's fine as plenty of people are.

You clearly don't understand jack. I have voiced differences over the Pats front office numerous times..

As for Mankins, care to show me in the CBA where Mankins is given the right to call the Krafts "LIARS"

Care to show how an offer of almost 7 million a year is not "taking care of Mankins"?

I understand that you are enamored by your blind homage of the players, but you really need to come out from under the pile of jocks every now and then and face reality.

OH, btw, Mankins always has the choice to go play in the AFL, UFL or CFL. Nothing says he has to play in the NFL. That's fact. And one that isn't just "my opinion".

You mean that the example from the last time the NFL and the players went through this isn't good enough for you? :bricks:

Actually. Most people with an ounce of legal sense have already stated that the situations are different. Particularly since Reggie White had already won his legal case against the NFL while the current case hasn't even had opening statements yet.

Nice try though.
