JD Drew to the Sox?

is that another one of your sick compitions lol lol lol that nobody else knows about .:D
Nope I'm just trying to get an answer. Give me an answer to why Drew deserves his nickname and I'll gladly leave the thread and let you have the last word.

Where was that? when you said he was a quitter and a baby?

I already showed you numerous stats to the contrary.

those stats dont prove anything lol.this topic about nancy drew isnt somthing that can be proved one way or the other its a preception that alot of people have but your to busy having some kind of sick compition  you should seek a mental health proffesional and ill go back to english class if you agree to go .and for gods sake stop masturbating to pictures of bill james.

If the stats don't prove anything then what does the nickname prove? I have no problem that you and a lot of other people dislike Drew, I'm just trying to understand why.

and the lesson here is that statistics are evil and lie while anecdotes and nicknames should be the basis of roster decisions. really? is that what we're going with?

I'd be more willing to listen to the anecdotes and nicknames if there was an actual reason behind them. Considering the source is an anonymous coach and there is no evidence to suggest that he is a quitter, baby, clubhouse cancer, or anything else negative... I'm not going to put much stock in it.

I don't like the signing because I don't think hes worth $14M a season, but I have no reason to assume he won't produce.

"I tell you what, he's a great player, a great individual, and a character guy. Any left-handed bat like his, the way he uses the whole field, he could have great success there. Unfortunately for us, he went somewhere else, which is his option. The market is great and he took advantage of it.

"Boston is such a great, great, great place to play. It's hard for me to say don't go to Boston because I think everybody should be able to experience playing in Boston. It's the Mecca of the game."

"You definitely have to have a certain mentality going in. The way J.D. is, he goes about business the way I do. Usually when people have that kind of personality, they do fine because they go out there and play their hearts out."

-Bill Mueller

Everyone likes Bill Mueller, right?

I'm happy with this move as long as we keep Manny. If Drew is our Manny replacement, however, I'm not cool with that. If we keep Manny, we already have a pretty solid lineup.

EDIT:
Rotoworld is saying Lugo is going to sign with us. Not official, but "likely".

Lugo
Youk
Papi
Manny
Drew
Lowell
Crisp
Tek
Pedroia

That lineup is a HUGE improvement over last years. Let's hope these Lugo & Drew contracts are a little backloaded though, otherwise we might be over the tax this season or next.

Again, if you pull Manny out of that lineup, it's just not the same at all.

NOBODY said drew was a lousy player so his stats have nothing to do with the argument. What does hitting 285 have to do with him being a quiter or somone who gets hurt all the time.this convesation isnt somthing that can be proved one way or the other .its about what alot of people percieve drew to be .Are you going to tell me that the redsox shouldnt consider what kind of person nancy drew is .thats just as important as what his stats are for christ sake.why does this guy have such a bad rap ?why has he been on so many teams in such a short period of time if hes so good. this is just common sense .its been more than just one coach thats had some negative things to say about drew .i dont think these people are going to come out and name themselves for obvious reasons either  so please dont ask for proof thats just stupid .asking for proof is like asking you to prove hes not a quiter or a baby.cant be done.when enough people say things about somone you have to ask yourself why.where theres smoke there fire.hes a redsox now so we will see if hes a dirtdog or not wont we.theo should have signed damon .

its not about proof .this conversation isnt a contest .i cant prove nancy drew is a cancer or a baby or a quiter just like your stats cant prove hes not .your stats prove hes a good player .but we are talking about human beings not computers .you can still be a cancer and a quiter and have good stats .i would rather have a bunch of players that feel a responseability towards there team mates and coaches.guys who put the team before themselves.i cant prove nancy drew isnt one of those guys.but there sure seems to be alot of speculation that hes not.i wonder why?maybe everybody should check with you fooley.

wait isn't Damon a traitor? you want a guy who was willing to cross the line from Sox to Yankees? I want guys with more character than that...

As for the new lineup, I would love to see:

Youk
Drew
Manny
Ortiz
Lugo
...

at the top of a lineup. Drew would be an ideal #2 hitter. Ortiz would have three guys with OBPs over .400 in front of him. Lugo can try to steal as many bases as he wants because getting caught hurts much less when guys like Varitek, Lowell, and Crisp are batting. Of course this will never happen because it moves around Ortiz and Manny and guys are really weird about being moved around in the order.

And I could easily say that Mike Lowell is a clubhouse cancer, or a quitter or a baby or anything else and call you an idiot for questioning it too. I have yet to see anything that suggests any of those things about Drew are true (other than Bill Mueller saying the exact opposite) so I don't believe them. WHY do you think he is a cancer that is bad to his teammates?

I'm not making this a contest, I just don't understand the rampant JD Drew hate stemming from his apparent makeup issues that seem to be highly unsubstantiated.

do you ever sleep or do you just spend all day at this web site or what .what are you on 24 hours a day

Since I haven't posted here in over 12 hours... no. Stop avoiding the questions.

you could say that about lowell but why would anybody believe you .you dont know the guy .but people who know drew have had some not to positive things to say about nancy drew .how did he get that nick name ?bill mueller would never say anything negative about anyone .why do you ask the same question over and over again when its already been answered.

No one would believe me becasue there is no reason to believe it. Just as there is no reason to beleive the talk about Drew. Who has said "not to positive things" about Drew? Can I get a quote on that? And Mueller wouldn't say anything bad about him, but he didn't need to say he has great character and has a great mentality for playing if it wasn't true. He could just as easily have said "Drew is a great player who will put up great numbers" while not saying anything about his character. But he didn't and he chose to highlight the fact he beleives that Drew is a great person who will do well in Boston.

I tend to believe Bill Mueller over the fact no one is quoted saying otherwise.

good for you im happy for you .
