I'm honestly afraid to say, because I'm sure that BB reads my posts and then goes purposely avoids ANYONE and EVERYONE I want him to draft. This has been going on for years now and I getting sick of it!!

DE/OLB Brooks Reed
C/G John Moffitt
RB Delone Carter

LOL, I feel exactly the same way. At least one thing I won't be doing is saying who I don't want. That's thr post I think BB uses to taunt me. ;)

If Kenrick Ellis' character checks out, I'd like to see him as a Patriot. His size/athleticism combo is intriguing. He could play end or inside in different formations and he is strong and huge - 6-5 346 lbs.

Allen Bailey is another possibility at DE to replace the loss of Jarvis Green or to hedge against Wright's health issues.

I'd like to see a RB like Vereen who can add a little explosion to the running game and contribute to the passing game in round 3.

And I think the Pats still need another interior OL like an Ijalana, a Boling, or a Wisnieski to compete with Connolly on the inside or replace Mankins down the road. Don't be surprised if they take another 'road grader' type OG in round 2.

Now CB is not a huge need but I think we'll look at a slot/nickel CB possibly as early as round 3. WR isn't an immediate need either, but if BB isn't satisfied with the progress of Tate/Price, there is the possibility of drafting guys such as Torrey Smith, Hankerson, Jernigan, or Gates, etc. later.

WR Edmund Gates

Yes, I know he is far from perfect, older, and comes with some baggage - and I know we've been burned with speedster WRs in the past. It's just a gut feeling that the skills he has fit our need, and ever since Ben Coates I always am on the lookout for a small school star who grows into the job as a pro.

Gates background is a bit troubling but that didn't stop the Pats from having him in for a pre-draft visit.... and there's a lot of players here who could take him under their wing and help this guy turn his life around.

Gates is far from a complete WR - he doesn't run routes well, and he might not have the best hands - but the tape I've seen of him, and his proven speed, indicates that he can beat just about any CB going deep.

If we drafted him I'd keep his duties simple.

1. Have Brady throw him a short screen and let him use his speed from there.
2. Send him deep and straight - no routes - and hope he's got the timing and hands to grab the ball... given his speed he should be open - or at the very least keep DBs honest.
3. Have him block. Apparently he's a good and willing blocker - something not every WR will do.

We have plenty of excellent route runners , and we have tall TEs for red zone duty - what we need is a speedy, decent sized deep threat.

Gates is projected to go in Round 3. If BB wants him he may have to pull the trigger early. A late 2nd round pick might be worthwhile.
