17. Ryan Kerrigan OLB/DE Purdue. Too much production to overlook. Seems to have all the things Belichick looks for in a LB.

25. Muhammed Wilkerson DE Temple. New England trades 28 and 33 to Seattle for 25,57 and their 2012 1st round pick.

57. Ben Ijalana OL Villanova. Great feet and versatility. Dante will turn him into a winner.

60. Jarvis Jenkins DE/DT Clemson. Can play any position up front. Solid player who can stop the run but can also get into the backfield. I like Ellis here if Jenkins is unavailable.

74. Ras Dowling S/CB Virginia. I like him to eventually to move into the safety role and help out at the 3rd cb slot.

92. Edmund Gates WR Abilene Christian. I'm gambling early here. Reminds me too much of a Jennings type player.

125. Willie Smith OL East Carolina. Fantastic measurables, very raw eager to learn type of lineman that I think DS can eventaully coach into the startig lineup in a couple of years. Wanted to go Greg Romeus here but I really think he is going a lot earlier than some may think.

159. Roy Helu RB Nebraska. Nice player with burst and good speed. Good value this late in the draft. Pushes BJGE while providing quality youthful depth.

193. Ryan Pugh Center Auburn. Plays great down low. May be strong enough to take on those enormous DT's that Koppen has trouble with.

I like it......I prefer to go with what someone did consistently on the field not the combine. And I mean Kerrigen.

Not bad. Good job. Not sold on Jennings. Agree on Dowling as a FS.

That would be a VERY SOLID first round. LOVE IT.

Our first two picks are the same.

Ijalana, I like it.

Don't know much about Jenkins, two 3-4 DEs though?

Ras-I-Dowling, I like this kid as a FS/CB hybrid. He will be needed in 2012 when Meriweather is gone.

Edmund Gates, One of my favorite WRs for the value. I see him as a speed threat.

Good, another OL.

I haven't seen Helu run, got to watch some highlights. Whatever RB taken this year will be important and could see playing time since only Woody and BJGE are on the team as of now.

A late round Center that could develop.

I like this draft, good job. If we could steal someone's 1st for next year that'd be nice.

Only complaint is I don't see the need in drafting 2 3-4 DEs early with all the bodies already there.

Well constructed, sir.

And well considered.

Your choice of Willie "Fresh Prince" Smith shows particular wisdom, in my view.

Is it really that hard to imagine? As deep as this draft is in DE's you would think getting two is certainly a luxury. Ty Warren is coming off of hip surgery. Normal time frame of full recovery is 2 years. We don't know if he is coming back the same player pre injury. Jenkins could eventually be the heir apparent to take Warrens spot when he retires. Wilkerson could man the other side. Also we are not always in a 34 defense. We do mix it up with some 43 and other formations from time to time.

As far as Brace,Wright and the others? Sure does give them a reason to play well in camp.

With due respect to Brother Snow, it seems clear to me that the Patriots would greatly benefit from drafting TWO High Caliber D Line Grizzlies.

The ugly problems our Defense has recently had, since Richard Seymour's trade and Ty Warren's injury, would seem to make that clear.

And as I've said many times, and as Brother Missile notes: Warren's recovery to Full Throttle in 2011, particularly considering his play in recent years, but mostly considering the recovery rate of most players from a major injury, including none other than Tom Brady and Wes Welker...is a very dubious prospect.

***

Our Back 8, for the first time since Teddy's Heart Attack, 6 long years ago, is finally shaping up to be Championship Caliber.

All we need to do to complete that picture, it seems to me, is to round out the Front 3.

Even given that it would probably take most of the year to get these guys up to speed, I believe that the most IMPACT that this Draft Class can have on our team ~ in terms of winning in JANUARY, which is ALL that matters!! ~ is where it usually can: The Front Lines.

Were we to haul away a couple of High Caliber D Line Grizzlies from this Draft ~ my choices would be Justin Watt + Kenrick Ellis!! ~ I believe that they'd play their way into become VITAL parts of our Front Wall by Christmas...and help us complete that journey to Dominance that we've all been longing for.
