They both have value. Personally I like Leshoure better ofcourse, if we were going to go RB in the 2nd round I'd rather him be the pick at 33.
LeShoure would be the best option but I think the Patriots will be scared off by the way LeShoure dances around defenders a lot, like Maroney did, and they might be looking fo more of a straight line runner like Williams or Hunter, They're feet always keep moving and LeShoure seems to hesitate and dance around defenders.
Perhaps, but comparing LoMo running an outside zone to Woodhead running an outside zone is dramatically different; and after my critique of Maroney's dancing as a rookie I was one of his defenders when he clearly became more decisive in his sophomore season. Maroney's biggest issue is he never stepped up his passing game contribution and was so one dimensional teams stacked the box or dialed up run blitzes on him, denying him the kind of hole he needed. Leshoure at least lines up outside as a receiver and has excellent hands for a RB, if he will learn blitz pick-up he could be a more interesting prospect.Maybe so about the dancing. But, y'know, maybe it wasn't that Maroney danced, but because he was a crappy dancer?
Yeah, I'd say IF we're going to be drafting an RB as early as the 2nd, I'd much rather have Leshoure than Hunter or Williams.
Does anybody really feel confident narrowing down Pats RB options at all?.
Yes, durable, productive ones that can block or catch on 3rd down.
OK, I'll second that. But who does that rule out besides Scott? Taiwan Jones, on injury history, I guess. Who else?
There is that pigskin allergy which some RBs develop on their hands ...OK, I'll second that. But who does that rule out besides Scott? Taiwan Jones, on injury history, I guess. Who else?

I think what the Patriots do well is not to rule out potential RBs that are too short, too slow over 40 yards, or other such "measurables". If you were productive at the college level, you can play. BJGE was not a sexy prospect, but he piled up the numbers at two different programs. Woody is tiny, but you cannot argue the production. Maroney was hugely productive, to the point where he put incumbent Marion Barber on the second string.
The one guy I feel confident won't be on the team is Do'Rel Scott, who apparently wiffed on every single block in pass rush drills.
So are we assuming that the patriots are drafting for a 3RB? I was assuming that woodhead would take over those duties if faulk can't go. Then we would be drafting a change of pace back for the Lawfirm.
I would say regardless of inteded use on draft day, a Patriot RB draftee needs to be able to pick up the blitz when he needs to, and to slip out as an outlet and reliably catch the ball when he needs to.

Agreed. A RB who can't handle blitz pickup will just be collecting pine splinters for the Pats. I think that was probably one of Maroney's biggest deficiencies, dancing aside. When your MVP is Tom Brady, the most efficient use of the offense is to present looks where that arm is a threat. A RB who can't contribute to the passing game with competent blitz pickup/pass blocking is just not a fit for us.
